Like it or not, we are all always changing and adapting to circumstances as time rolls on. The positive thing about change is that with some effort we can help direct some (though not all) of the change in our lives as opposed to being victimized by it.
Two years ago, same time of year, I was making behavior-shifting pacts with myself. I know it was this time of year because it was a few weeks before I was to run the Boston Marathon and I was not ready despite my training. Frankly I would never be ready.
I was fortunate enough to see him in action, in real life, up close and personal. So when I discovered yesterday that Stephen had passed away, two stories came to mind which present a real picture of a man who impacted millions all over the world.
