It was all over: four shows in 24 hours. There's a lot to experience in our city. If you don't mind temporary exhaustion you just might be able to do it all.
It's a week in the D.C.-area of familiar faces, old friends, and those who waited too long to visit. There aren't any headline-grabbing shows or tough tickets.
It certainly would appear that under no circumstances does my week of concerts end the way it begins. Those in attendance on Monday and Sunday nights will likely have little in common by way of musical taste.
Joshua Tillman takes everything he learned from being in Fleet Foxes and makes it a whole lot less boring. As Father John Misty, Tillman doesn't stray far from what made his band so popular, but picks up the pace just enough.
If the idea of seeing a boy-girl duo playing heartfelt and anxious love songs on Valentine's Day is your idea of a personal hell, Slow Club at DC9 is not for you.
This week demonstrates the difficult life of a person who feels the need to go to as many shows as possible. Strangely, concert promoters will not check to see if you have a (concert) conflict.
This is not, and will not be, a comprehensive concert calendar for D.C. and the surrounding area. This is my schedule. I do my best to go see the best shows our fair city has to offer.
