I argue that delegation is best because it allows the servicemen to do what they are good at so one can focus on what they themselves are good at. But are we really doing what we are good at, or are we just spending more time distracting ourselves with less-important tasks?
One of the most powerful ways to engage your body and brain is so simple: Focus on one task at a time. Your brain can deeply engage, and your body's senses can fully experience your environment, other people and the situation at hand.
The good news was that I did remember; it just took time. The bad news was that this was the most egregious of an accelerating string of memory lapses.
