Kevin Hart came with a ton of energy (perhaps too much at times), but the material was mostly second rate. It certainly wasn't a terrible show, but it wasn't a good or particularly memorable show, either.

The entire show was about Justin Bieber -- and "SNL" is at its worst when the show is about the host as opposed to the host integrating him or herself into the cast.

Adam Levine certainly didn't phone it in -- like we've seen other "SNL" hosts do this season -- but, like many a musical guest-turned-host before him, this just really didn't work out.

Like any "SNL" that features cavalcade of guest stars, it becomes a tough week to get significant airtime -- and that's not even taking into account that there were only nine segments that involved the cast.

With "SNL" coming off a break, and only one more show until a long break, this week's show felt stagnant. As we all place are wagers on if we'll see the return Ed Grimly in next week's Martin Short-Paul McCartney, here's this week's Relevancy Poll.

Yeah, the Jeremy Renner-hosted installment of "SNL" certainly wasn't the strongest effort of the season. And no cast member had a truly outstanding ...

Jason Sudeikis said goodbye to his interpretation of Mitt Romney on Saturday night. He seems to have a renewed energy that he was missing the last two seasons. It's a shame that this will be his last.

Only nine segments aired on the Louis C.K.-hosted "Saturday Night Live." What's even more remarkable is that a grand total of five sketches were killed after dress rehearsal. So it goes without saying (but I will anyway, for some reason) that airtime was at a premium this week. On to the sixth Relevancy Poll of the season we go ...

Louis C.K. has developed the reputation that he's only happy when he's in charge and on last night's show, at times, that seemed evident. When he was comfortable, he was electric. When he wasn't comfortable, he broke character.

For the second week in a row, "SNL" featured only 10 segments. Factor in a dominating host and the presence of Tom Hanks and and it wasn't exactly the easiest week to get quality airtime.

Musical performers who are thrust into hosting duties have a, let's say, mixed history of success on "SNL." But, yeah ... maybe Bruno Mars (with a little help from Tom Hanks) really is the next Justin Timberlake.

Aidy Bryant had a much better week than the previous two. But, still relegated to just a couple of backup roles. I am going to make a bold predictions by stating that, next week, Aidy Bryant will be nowhere near 14th on this list.

Always following in the footsteps of "SNL" Scorecard, the "SNL" Relevancy Poll now kicks off its season as well. Remember, the Relevancy Poll is less about pure performance as it is a combination of buzz and airtime from Saturday night's show -- an opening show that featured three brand new cast members and, somehow, nobody got shut out. It also featured a casting decision that will change the balance of power on the show for one recently promoted repertory player, at least for a good part of the season.
