Unfortunately reminiscent of many other, better movies, Oblivion is a comic-book -- excuse me, graphic novel -- adaptation that has one thing in its favor: It's not in 3D. Otherwise, this Tom Cruise vehicle is large, lavish and flat as a fallen soufflé.
Did Finding Nemo require 3D-ification? (Or should that be deification?) Not really. The 3D gives the images a little more depth but they already had heft and weight.
No studio, no director, no star has ever had the unbroken string of success that Pixar has enjoyed with every single film it's made from Toy Story in 1995 to 2008's Oscar-winning WALL-E.
