It occurred to me, as I looked at a picture of photographers swarming a trio of women, that they are establishing an important point: Despite being decades past the western Women's Liberation Movement, the most direct and potent access to power they have still is through their sexuality.

Dr. King was a living example of the kind of person who encourages the moral arc of history to bend toward justice. He is also an example of the only effective way to bend that arc: nonviolently.

We might ask what might be a delight to the angel of the nation? It could be the awakening of the longing for justice, equality, and a crying out for values that balance the pursuit of material things with a return to conscience.

If we believe that one life - perhaps even our own - is worth giving up for a change that brings hope to thousands or millions of others, then this third way begins to look like a path worth exploring.
