Once again we skied at Liberty, near Gettysburg. We go there often, because we have a lot of good friends there and it is the closest drive from Washington DC. But its sister area, Whitetail, is also excellent, with some longer, steeper runs.
This winter has been among the driest in D.C. history -- just 1.5 inches of snow have fallen on the region. Luckily, there are a few places to see snow just a few hours' drive from D.C.
The trails were wide and white and glistened in the sun. The morning was cold at first, but it became quite warm in the afternoon.
