Every person who participates in sports won't become a professional athlete. But everyone should have the same opportunities to chase their dreams. I may not have the same basketball gifts as a Kobe Bryant or LeBron James, but like them I was given a chance for equal play.

There are a lot of people that believe the path is already set for them or they don't have options, but none of that is true. If you want something changed, change it yourself. Don't wait for someone else to come along. Only rely on yourself to get you to where you want to be.

When I talk to young girls, I think back to when I was 12 years old and I had just moved to Texas from Alabama. My dad took me to a Houston Comets game and that was it. I told him right then that I wanted to play in the WNBA.
