GET UPDATES FROM Tallia Storm
Every so often, something quite raw and interesting comes along to the music scene and give the reaction of this unsigned 14-year-old's native Scotland, it is perhaps Tallia Storm. Nothing contrived, just a deep soulful signature reminiscent to that from the Motown era, belying her age. The Tallia Storm vocal, with her trademark 'big hair' will pull you in all the right directions, for she can belt out strong soulful melodies with an R&B and jazz grove that simply defies her petite frame. Tallia Storm is working on her debut album and has recorded many new and exciting tracks, one of which is to appear on a soundtrack of an upcoming animated feature film Sir Billi, starring Sir Sean Connery. She has already played across Scotland to rave reviews at numerous fashion parties, live gigs and The Variety Club of Great Britain Show. With significant local radio station support from Radio Clyde, where she has performed at several of their roadshows, their Clyde DJ's described her as 'a little lady with a big voice going a long way!' Scotland's Capital FM invited her to turn on the Christmas lights and sing live on stage with over 6000+ street party goers -- nothing seems to faze this young lady who is clearly at her best in front of a microphone!

Presently at school, Tallia Storm remains very grounded by all this activity. She said: "I think of this as my passion and my hobby, but a hobby that I take super seriously. Like my friends go swimming four and five times a week and compete in regional competitions, I practice singers for hours and record records. I understand the competition is mega, but fingers crossed I'm here for the long term -- it's all about focus and music is mine, no matter how long it takes! It's easier when you love singing as much as I do of course!"

'No' Is Never the Answer

It's been a crazy few months between my singing, traveling and indeed, schoolwork. The story of my demo CD continues to work its magic when I got a call from Eva Longoria's PR team to invite me to sing at her gala charity ball in Marbella, Spain. Wow -- I...

I was expecting "awesome" from simply everything I had read about this global teen conference, but I hadn't expected such levels of awesome and I hadn't even arrived in New York yet. For on Wednesday March 13, I sat in my mum's study (in our wee village just outside Glasgow,...

Last week, I bought my two wee brothers Zachary (age 6) and Johnnie (age 9), the new red noses. If you don't live in Britain you may be wondering what on earth I'm going on about, but this is the 25th anniversary of a really amazing charity who have recruited...

It's fair to say this wasn't your average school half-term break. The way I see it, as I pursue my music career, it's important that I keep all my "irons on the fire," eh? So off I went to London Fashion Week as a blogger and what a roller coaster...

Teens Tripping Out On 'Why'

(0) Comments | Posted February 12, 2013 | 9:21 AM

When I found out that I had been invited to speak at the TEDxTeen conference in New York on March 16, my first and most obvious question was, "Why me?" This was closely followed with, "OMG! How cool would a trip to New York be?"

It's a perfectly...

The Day That Changed My Life

(0) Comments | Posted January 8, 2013 | 9:28 AM

January 7 is a very special day for two reasons. First, it's the birthday of my amazing nanny (we're not allowed to call her granny; she hates that). She's 79 years young! Second, one year ago, I acted very impulsively -- almost irrationally in hindsight. But it was an act...

It's no secret that we girls are obsessed with accessories, jewellery, handbags, clutch bags, totes, you name it -- well, I am anyway, especially Swarovski! But what has always fascinated me is people's reaction when they see my most important accessory. Yes, I carry it everywhere, inside my handbag --...

How I Became a Target of the 'Fashion Police'

(0) Comments | Posted August 1, 2012 | 1:49 PM

The time has come for me to talk about fashion, since my "giant hair bow" has been the subject of much online debate! But in all honesty, as crazy as it was, I had no idea it would cause such a stir! I am certainly not complaining -- it's been...

Do Scottish Teenagers Really Care About Independence?

(38) Comments | Posted July 5, 2012 | 10:20 AM

Teens and politics rarely go together. I mean, there are those in school that clearly have a passion for politics and they rear their ambitious and argumentative traits in the debating society and that's great -- I am partial to a good debate myself and enjoy watching others. But what...

Me, Myself and Music (VIDEO)

(5) Comments | Posted June 4, 2012 | 10:27 AM

Ever since I can remember, I have been singing. My mum used to shout at me for not asking a question but singing a question, if you catch my drift. Everything I said seemed to come out in a melodic manner. It's just me, although in truth, it did become...
