Tammy Lynch is a Senior Research Fellow at Boston University’s Institute for the Study of Conflict, Ideology & Policy, where she focuses on the domestic and foreign policies of the Western region of the former Soviet Union and provides biweekly commentary for the Institute's publication, "The ISCIP Analyst."

She spent 2002 to 2005 working for the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs in Washington DC, Russia and Ukraine.

She spends months each year in Ukraine.

She has published numerous articles on contemporary political events in Ukraine, and has provided commentary to, among others, the BBC, Associated Press, Le Figaro, Handlesblatt and Voice of America. Her guest editorials have appeared regularly in the Kyiv Post and Business Ukraine.

She received her doctorate from Boston University in History and International Relations.
