They did not know it would be so busy and bright.
They thought that they had enough.
They thought the power of the people.
Would be enough to power the land.
This power had brought them peace.
This power had brought them reconciliation.
This power had warded off civil war.
This power had catapulted them into annals of Nobel Peace Victory.
This power was not of land and elements.
It was a supernatural power
That transcended race and color.
Harmonizing the unfathomable.
How could this not be enough, they wondered?
And now the lights have gone out.
Darkness encroaches.
Please, let's not let Africa go.
