Clinton Didn't 'Jilt' YearlyKos (updated)

by Taylor Marsh

After Dean spoke last night, it was announced that Clinton would not be doing the so-called breakout sesssions after the presidential forum, which will allow YearlyKos attendees to meet the candidates personally. People were understandably furious when it was announced and a diary was quickly posted with the heading: YK '07: Effing Hillary Jilts Kossacks! The outrage would be understandable except that it's not true.

Gina, the executive director of YK, explains.

Yearlykos wholeheartedly disagrees with the sentiments expressed in the diary entitled "Effing Hillary Jilts Kossacks." There was a miscommunication between YearlyKos and Senator Clinton's Campaign, which was never under the impression that Senator Clinton would be attending the breakout session due to a scheduling conflict. We regret due to this miscommunication, the announcement was made so belatedly. We are ecstatic she will be attending the forum and that Anne Lewis will be representing her in the breakout session.
Make sure you read her whole post.

Anne Lewis will represent Clinton and be in the breakout session to answer questions.

There is no way Clinton or any of the Democratic candidates would "jilt" YearlyKos, which has now been explained. This was obviously a communications snafu, which can happen with an event this huge. It's unfortunate, but Clinton will be there for the very important presidential forum that will allow everyone to hear what she has to say in person. Camp Clinton would never "jilt" this community. If you know Peter Daou, her internets director, you get it.

UPDATED: Clinton has now changed her schedule in order to take question in the breakout groups. Peter Daou has posted on it.
