Wes Clark Endorses Clinton

"I think she's a rock. ... I think Senator Clinton is ready to lead. ... I think Senator Clinton is the total package." - General Wesley Clark

I'll wake up early on any day to talk to Wesley Clark.

Clark said this morning in a blogger conference call that Clinton has the "judgment, experience, does her homework to the full capacity" and he believes she should be president.

"She believes we should be withdrawing forces, so do I." - Wesley Clark

Clinton and Clark agree that diplomacy must be up front in the entire region. There will be no permanent presence in Iraq.

I asked what General Clark thought about Clinton, the first woman, being commander in chief. He said she was prepared, that she'd seen war torn countries, been to Bosnia, as well as Afghanistan, and that the troops would be "proud of their commander in chief."

On the question of his role in the campaign or whether he'd consider being vice president, Clark said nothing concrete has been discussed about his role and that the vice presidency is basically nothing he's contemplating right now.

This endorsement does not come as a surprise, but it is certainly a welcome one. Clark has been pushing, along with VoteVets.org, to stop any war with Iran, as well as end the Iraq war. He's a respected man among many who will vote in the primaries, and his prowess as a military man is unmatched.

Wish he hadn't thrown out an endorsement yet- all the players haven't made it to the field yet- right ? He may have just dashed my ishful thinking- knows more than US and figures it's as good as it's going to get. His involvement in an administrative line up would definitely sway my opinion of a Presidential Candidate. Even wish Powell would have the balls to spill the beans on this administration- good man gone wrong because of 'duty'. Great attribute as long as you remeber your DUTY IS ALWAYS TO THE PEOPLE YOU DEFEND- not the lastest flavor (favor) in the white house(it's also lost it's symbolic relevance)If the military is willing to follow an obvious dictatorship we are lost as a nation. Come Home and help US build a true Democracy. One worth the world to respect, emulate, admire, depend on....
You are our warriors for justice- first and foremost within our own country of which you have defended with your lives and personal sacrifics. Please come home - we desperately need you here, Our government has fallen apart !

I just thought of something:

if Wes Clark, who spearheaded the whole "Stop Iran War" campaign, is surrendering to the Hillary Eager-Cheerleader-for-WW3 camp, that means the attack on Iran is just around the corner.

I'm certainly disappointed by Clark's endorsement of Hillary Clinton. The only Democratic candidate who is prepared to lead America out of the hole that Bush has dug is Joe Biden, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee. I probably shouldn't be surprised by Clark's endorsement, after all he is from Arkansas. Hillary has entirely too many negatives. The Republicans are licking their chops at the thought of Hillary as their opponent.

this is bullshit. Hillary is an eager cheerleader for invading Iran. I guess by "Stop Iran War" he meant "War to Stop Iran." I just lost all trust in Wes Clark's judgment.

Clark is a bg disappointment. For a man of his level education and seemingly clean reputation to choose to swim in the same sewage that the Clintons are is a disappointment. Or may be they reminded him of his not so glorious stint in Bosnia under Bill. Whatever they promised him, he is a huge disppointment.

Well, as a loyal Clark supporter for many years, I part company with him. I hope I do not EVER have to face the prospect of voting for Hillary. Ever. I am tired of the lesser of two evils and she is Rethug lite and nothing else.

The retired commander of NATO forces in Europe is now free of the gag imposed by this, and former, Commanders-in-Chief. Anytime an active duty military person makes political statements contrary to the policies of the President there WILL be repercussions. Remember Truman firing McArthur? Granted that was long ago. But, think of dismissals of the Generals under the countrys current Administration. It is not only military men and women that are branded as unpatriotic, if they disagree with the Bush-Cheney war experts, that smear will apply to any of the 302 million citizens of this country.
Well, pardon me. I happen to be one of those 302 million that demand that the President do what he promised to do on Jan.20,2001 and again on Jan.20,2005. ..."to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States". Nowhere in that sworn oath did he promise to protect us from gang bangers, Tim McVeys or Osama Bin Laden. That happens to be why we have cops and GI's.
Seems like this Administration thinks defending the Constitution means putting on the government payroll such Constitutional experts as Monica Goodling, John Yoo and Alberto Gonzales. -Good job Gen. Clarke.

Gen. Petreus is acclaimed for being in the top 5% of his class at West Point. Clark was number one period. He is a pleasure to listen to and watch. Any general who speaks knowingly and approvingly of the enlightenment will be welcome at the top of any government I want to believe in. A Jewish general from Arkansas by way of Vietnam, Bosnia, and NATO. What's not to like?

You'd think that a guy like Clark wouldn't be so easily snowed, but alas....

General Clark's endorsement of Hillary is the best news I've heard in a long time! I'm still wearing my "West Wing" Clark for President t-shirt from several years ago! Of all the prominent endorsements Hillary has received, Wes Clark's thrills me the most. My son is a Lt. Colonel in the Army and flew helicopters for a year in Iraq recently, so I've also been keenly involved keeping up with military operations. We need the wisdom of Wes Clark now more than ever before! I think we're done here, now.

Let's start focusing on & preparing for November 2008.

Which is only to say that I'm declaring the
'Tag Team 2008' campaign officially over.
I want to thank all the little people for their
support, but our great idea was just too brilliant
to catch on with the voters, who always know best, sometimes.

What a brilliant coup for the Clinton campaign!

I had long held hope that we would see a Gore/Clark ticket, but that doesn't seem to be possible...sigh.

But I will be happy with Clinton/Clark.

Clark has the experience to end the war. Plus, he is respected in the heartland. This is a strong ticket.
