People have extremely diverse eating habits. There are those that avoid red meat entirely, even if they are dining out at a world-class steakhouse. Some adhere to strange fad diets, eating only bananas one day and only vegetables the next. Others still throw caution to the wind and indulge in the rich, luxurious side of dining. It's always seemed like there was no real rhyme or reason to eating habits. Those who like certain things just do. Those who hate certain things simply hate them. But really, there is a perfectly logical explanation for some eating habits. Believe it or not, your birthday -- and thus your star sign -- can really affect eating habits, likes and dislikes, and social food tendencies.

There's a lot to be said for astrological signs and how they affect a person. Becoming more familiar with the 12 signs can give huge insight into a person and explain some of their idiosyncrasies. For example, a Taurus absolutely enjoys good food and wine. They tend to be a bit self-indulgent and sometimes need to be reined in a bit. On the opposite end of the spectrum, a Pisces is selfless and spiritual, completely guided by their feelings.

1
Scorpio
Someone born under the Scorpio sign will have a keen sense of curiosity and intuition. They are fearless so the choices of what to feed them can be wide-open. Choose something new and interesting. Sagittarius
The Sagittarius is a clear thinker, thirsting for knowledge. They always try to see the big picture. They also enjoy lots of world travel so don’t be afraid here, but do worry about keeping it interesting. They know what they want and their cravings are precise. Capricorn
Some people are fun loving. Others, like the Capricorn, are practical and realistic with a big sense of ambition. For the Capricorn and their classic nature, choose a classic meal. A traditional stew or classic side dish — perhaps with a hint of newness for fun — will be pleasing. Think sensible and avoid dishes that are frivolous or unnecessarily over stuffed.Photo Credit: ShutterstockClick Here to see More Things to Eat According to Your Horoscope

Aquarius
An Aquarius tends to be a bit of a humanitarian, a philanthropist, even a visionary. They are focused on making the world a better place, so choose something locally sourced. Think a big plate of roasted veggies that you’ve picked up from a farmers market in the area. Don’t go for something that is super processed or comes from a chain. Only authenticity will do!Photo Credit: Shutterstock

Pisces
Selfless and spiritual, the Pisces is defined by their feelings. They hate making waves and tend to go with the flow very easily. So choose something that requires very little time spent. Over-complicated meals will only fluster them. Use simple, natural ingredients and the Pisces will be happy as a lark! Learning more about the star signs and what they mean about a person can also open a huge window into their eating habits. Someone who is filled with energy, like the Leo, needs to carbo-load. They need something substantial to keep them going as they burn through their need to be center stage. The Aquarius is big on making the world a better place, one step at a time. They'll love CSA baskets and farmer's markets with tons of locally sourced produce and foods that are beneficial to the environment. So, what does your star sign say about your eating habits?
