Celebrating (or Surviving) the Mayan Apocalypse With Joshua Berman

20110622-berman_uxmalFor our last podcast of the year, Ron, Josh and Vanessa invited travel writer and Maya 2012 expert Joshua Berman for a closer look at 13 B'ak'tun, a.k.a., December 21, a.k.a. Winter Solstice 2012, a.k.a., the mythical Mayan doomsday, a.k.a., OMIGOSH WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE.

First we looked at a few newsy bits that suggest the world is coming to an end:

mayan-forecastSince some see Colorado as "the epicenter of the American gun argument," we dive deep into gun talk, then shift to more promising prospects for the future: The Mayan prophecy that the world will end on December 21, 2012. Joshua Berman dispels the myths -- but still endulges our apocalyptic fantasies -- and then suggests a few great parties for our last/next night on Earth.
