Former Attorney General John Ashchroft appeared on The Daily Show Wednesday night to talk about his new book Never Again. Stewart expressed frustration that Americans who criticize Bush administration policy are considered to be exhibiting weakness. Ashcroft responded, "it is possible to disagree with the administration's policy in a way that does exhibit weakness." The audience, having perhaps misheard him, breaks into scattered applause before Stewart says, "Wait, what?"
