From The UpTake
At the National Conference for Media Reform 2008, a producer for FOX's The O'Reilly Factor, Porter Barry, ambushes PBS's Bill Moyers and peppers him with questions regarding his political affiliations and his "refusal" to appear on O'Reilly's show. Moyers disputes FOX's "facts" for the record and asks to interview someone at The O'Reilly Factor about Rupert Murdoch and the show's coverage during the run-up to the invasion of Iraq. The journalist crowd then reacts, chasing down Barry and intentionally giving him a dose of FOX-style bullying reportage.

Am definitely "buzzing" this one up. It's priceless!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
I don't known why FOX bothers with Moyers, he does nothing but softball interviews. PBS needs to put him in the old folks home.
uvymopkq, you must be smoking crack. Moyers put the beat down on that younger whipper snapper and the journalists afterward gave Mr. Baldy a taste of his own medicine. This is the 2nd time I've seen this guy get schooled while attempting to ambush people. He'll soon do a "Scott McClellan" and realize he's being USED!!! LOL! This was great!
Successful troll is successful
About the only news we can stand to watch in this household any more is Bill Moyer's Journal, Keith Olbermann on MSNBC, a bit from Link TV (oh and for kicks Jon Stewart on The DailyShow)
Anyone remember watching this from Bill Moyer's from back in Nov 2007?

It's pretty sad...
Honest Journalism to be shown on TV is so hard to find anymore. We PAY for over 150+ channels, and are now down to only a very slim few for honest reporting.
Keep up the awesome work Mr Moyers!
Thank heavens (at this time) we still have the internet...
Journalism has always had its hacks, but a true journalist are rarely seen these days. I might pop someone who thrusts a microphone and camera in my face, repeating the same question (challenge) over and over like that. Barry was like a playground bully trying to start a fight. Bill responded with an even tempered, cool rationality that most people couldn't muster up in the face of such absurd behavior.
Bill Moyers is the definition of a good journalist. He ferrets out the facts, CHECKS them and reports on them. He is also a bona fide member of the Fourth Estate, the purpose of which is to provide checks on our government, to CHALLENGE our government. Our founders set up checks and balances to allow any of the three branches to serve as a watch dog of the others. The purpose of a free press is to serve as an independent watch dog over all of government.
The press was never intended to be an oligarchical institution, but it is almost there.
Fox serves as Rupert Murdoch's voice which supports of whatever the Bush administration does and says.
Thank you Bill Moyers for sticking to your prinicples in the face of ambush tactics, personal attacks and even attempts to control CPB and PBS by those who are threatened by the truth you speak.
JenniferInMo you said it perfectly. Thanks.
Argghhh (to paraphrase Keith Olbermann on Rupert Murdoch)
man. so so wonderful.
THE HUNTER BECOMES THE HUNTED
I wish he was my dad
I have said it before on HUFFPO:
Bill Moyers is the ONE man we should be electing as President! PERIOD!
If INTEGRITY, CANDOR, TRUTH AND UNCOMPROMISING CLARITY ON SERIOUS ISSUES, BILL IS THE MAN!
Bill Moyers would have my vote. He is a gentleman and a scholar. Barry, O'Reilly, and their ilk are crude and unscholarly, and characteristically exhibit a lack of any underlying principles or philosophy other than their own self-interest. They attempt to hide their intellectual deficiencies with shouts, interruptions, and smokescreens. Who really listens to such people?
INTEGRITY? When he was LBJ's press secretary, why did Moyers instigate improperly/illegally coercing the FBI to procure privileged raw file data about the private life of a Goldwater staff aide?
Yeah, it's really funny listening to Saint Moyers and his indignant lecturing and high moralizing about "abuse of power."
The FBI/Goldwater incident is pretty much the only ugly to an otherwise comparatively pristine public record. Moyers later owned up to it.
He was a lot younger then. Can people not grow wiser with age?
Good job, Bill Moyers! That's a real journalist. He knows his stuff and can reason.
What seems to escape the Fox News apologists is the amount of cash that Murdoch has given to Clinton and other Democrats. It's safe to assume that Fox News is entertainment, as O'Reilly insisted on 60 Minutes, not journalism.
That's a classic case of "back at you". He tried to do to Moyers what the other journalists did to him. Hahahahaha, that was too funny and he sure didn't like it, did he? What goes around eventually comes around people.
Back at you, O'Reilly!
Wow. I knew Bill Moyers was good, but I didn't know how good. He put that guy in his place, and all the while he was patient, honest, calm, and even generous.
I thought exactly the same thing after seeing this. Moyers is smarter than the average bear...
Can someone please explain wht the hell is going on here? That guy from Fox...what the hell is his problem? Is FOX NEWS really not just awful, but truly fascist? It seems like it...scary!
Welcome to the reality of Fox News. It's been Fascist Noise for some time.
Hillarious!!! That producer looks more of a fool that that hill woman that just lost her ridiculous show. This feud is highly entertaining. Thanks MSNBC!
O'Reilly creates his own reality. His reality is now that America is a place where things are fine and can only be better if we invade Iran. Any criticism of Bush is misplaced. High oil prices have nothing to do with Cheney still being paid by an oil company and his drafting an energy policy with oil companies behind locked doors. If people can accept O'Reilly's unreality, they are often to the right or just like a good brawl. Most can see that O'Reilly is in the administration's pocket and are not taken in by the yarns he spins. The "No Spin Zone" is all spin.
