Oh, Wonkette...

After trying to take me to the cyber-woodshed over my John Bolton visits Judy Miller post, Ana Marie Cox aka Wonkette, sent me the following cat-ate-the-canary e-mail:

“oh, Arianna… in your excitement over this, did you forget how to dial a phone?”

oh, wonkette, I hate to kill your buzz… but in your excitement over trying to play gotcha, did you forget how to get your facts straight?

You see, you called the wrong detention facility. You called the ARLINGTON County Detention Facility. Judy Miller is being kept at the ALEXANDRIA Detention Center.

Oops.

If you had called the right facility -- as I did before posting my story -- you would have been told -- as I was -- that it is the policy at ALEXANDRIA not to give out the names of visitors (in fact, the deputy we spoke with there said that he wasn’t sure they would give it out even with a subpoena). ARLINGTON apparently has a looser policy when it comes to visitor names… not to mention when it comes to having nice phone chats with fact-challenged bloggers.

To paraphrase Wonkette: NOT EVERYTHING WRITTEN ON BLOGS BY THOSE TRYING TO PROTECT JUDY MILLER IS NECESSARILY TRUE.

Sorry, Ana Marie’s mom… the laziest person on earth title hasn’t been relinquished yet.
