Previously, she spent four years in Latin America as the regional business editor for The Associated Press in Mexico City, and as an economics and government reporter for Bloomberg in Caracas, Venezuela. She began her work in journalism as a researcher at ABC News "Nightline" and "This Week,” joining team coverage of foreign affairs and politics for more than two years; and later wrote about immigration, crime, and local development at The Miami Herald. She has also reported in China for the Shanghai Star, in Brazil on a grant from the International Reporting Project, and in Germany as a McCloy Fellow. She holds a master’s in journalism from Columbia University and an MBA from The Wharton School.
