Thomas Jessen Adams teaches history at Tulane University in New Orleans. He received his Ph.D. in Modern U.S. History from the University of Chicago in 2009. He is currently finishing a book entitled: The Servicing of America: Service Work, Political Economy, and the Making of 21st Century America, and is an editor of the forthcoming collection Working in the Big Easy: Labor in New Orleans from Slavery to Post-Katrina.
