Tim Frasca is a journalist previously based in Washington, D.C., and Santiago, Chile, where he filed reports for over 100 print and broadcast media outlets over a period of 25 years. In 1988 he joined five other volunteers to form the first AIDS prevention and advocacy organization in Chile and served as its executive director from 1993 to 2000. He received a masters degree in public health from Columbia University in 2006 and now directs an AIDS program involving seven southern states. His book AIDS in Latin America was published by Palgrave/Macmillan in 2005.
