Also from Chicago IL. T. J. is a former student at Scupe, nurturing
the Call program. And currently a Student at McCormick Theological
Seminary there he will be seeking to get his Master of Divinity T.J.
recently authored the Litany for Peace and Justice that was introduced
at Riverside Church in New York in March of 2005. You can view that

Chicago Coordinator for Clergy and Laity Concerned about Iraq. T.J.
Williams is a contemporary Christian singer. T.J.'s mom, Idella Cora
Thomas, was a Pentecostal evangelist who encouraged him to retain his
independent thinking outside of any self hating rectric preech from
any pulpit. While currently a member of Trinity United Church of
Christ Chicago, IL. And The Riverside Church, New York, New York. He
serves at Trinity as Chaplin with the church and Society ministry. And
is apart of their minister and training program. T.J is formerly a
member First Congregational United Church of Christ. T.J. is also a
former Baptist who was asked to leave that denomination after a
television interview concearning Homophobia within the church. T.J.
has been runing with Jesus for a long time his desire is get ordained
and preach the liberating power of Jesus. And then Secondly, to put
together contemporary Christian music with HIV/AIDS education and
prevention and third, to concentrate on encouraging committed
relations ships within the gay/lesbian community. T.J. has been
working against the homophobia, ageism, racism, and sexism that have
been too long a part of the culture of the Church. These things have
perpetuated the denial of the Church's responsibility to care,
educate, and advocate for communities at risk -affected people. This
attitude has influenced how society has handled HIV/AIDS, poverty,
racial justice and all the ones who Jesus was concerned about the
most. Here is how T.J. has gotten started on this path. For two years
he coordinated the Black Church Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS
in Youngstown, Ohio, which is a Balm in Gilead event. He has performed
at the World AIDS Conference in Columbus, Ohio. And the Staying Alive
Conference sponsored by the National Association of People with AIDS
(NAPWA) in Chicago IL. His personal story has been featured in The
Faces of AIDS concerning his brother who died of AIDS. Messages and
