Is Running a Country, State, City a Part-Time Job?

News that Czech President Vaclav Klaus has confessed to an affair with a flight attendant less than half his age has garnered little attention. But it did make me wonder: where do all these politicians find the time?

At every level of government, from mayors to governors to heads of state, the pressing needs of their constituencies, or their families for that matter, don't seem to get in the way of arranging, booking, paying for, and having their assignations.

Most days I start off with a long list of things I need to get done; and rarely does everything get crossed off. But these politicians seem to have plenty of time on their hands.

Maybe we should overlook their peccadilloes, but make their jobs part-time.
