A Colorado native and Littleton resident, Toni Panetta holds a master’s degree in international relations from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. She is a 2012 alumna of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Fellowship Programme, through which she traveled to Morocco, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, and served as one of five U.S. delegates selected by the American Council of Young Political Leaders to meet with political, policy, and community leaders in El Salvador and Guatemala in 2010. Ms. Panetta has completed a Truman Security Project Boot Camp on the U.S. military and the National Women's Law Center's Progressive Leadership and Advocacy Network.

Ms. Panetta most recently served as political director for NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado & NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado Foundation, not-for-profit organizations that use the political process to effect changes in public policy to ensure all Colorado women and their families have access to the information and reproductive health care services they need throughout their lifetimes. As political director, Ms. Panetta coordinated the organization’s public policy and political activities. Prior to joining NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado, Ms. Panetta served as managing editor for the California Association of Realtors®, where was responsible for editorial oversight for publications with combined budgets of $2 million and combined national circulations of 200,000.


Ms. Panetta was appointed by Denver Mayor Hancock in 2011 to serve on the Denver Women's Commission, a position she still holds. She also served on the Junior Board of PROJECT C.U.R.E., an international humanitarian relief organization the delivers medical supplies and services to health care facilities in developing countries, and currently serves on the Advisory Board for Emerge Colorado, which recruits and trains Democratic women to run for office. Ms. Panetta holds a bachelor’s degree from Whittier College.
