If he'd been raised by a saber tooth tiger or a family of moths, life would have been much more difficult for Eric Teschke... At least, that's what he told me just an hour after meeting him for the first time at his 4th of July party. I knew he had been celebrating our country's independence pretty hard but he spoke with such articulation it actually seemed like a legit statement. Though, at that point, I would listen to whatever he said because I instantly fangirling over after watching his soon-to-be released Icelandic glacier video; I didn't even know about the fancy compilation video below until last week!
Eric and I are the same age. He's been to 350 locations in 71 countries spanning 6 continents. I've been to 1 other country, though Canada shouldn't really count since it's less than an hour drive. It's also why this article is about him, not me. We should all feel fortunate Eric had two human parents, who nurtured his capitalistic spirt from a young age. He evolved from boy who started a candy store in his garage to an master degreed architect who designed mansion projects all over the world, a passionate investor who's spent the last 7 years in a partnership seeking out undervalued assets, and an entrepreneur who's improving an industry by informing consumers about effing cheap travel
Some people get jealous when someone else has the opportunity to experience so many different parts of the world. Heck, I've been guilty of it at some levels in the past, too. But you know what? Most of them make their own opportunities. We should be learning from them and finding inspiration in it. Instead of focusing on all the many reasons we have yet to see enough of the world - it's too expensive, can't take time off, get to it next year, can't afford it - let's start discovering ways we can get closer to a new destination.
