Turns out New Yorker Editor Supremo David Remnick was just kidding with last week's apparently racist-classist-sexist- ethnically-and-religiously-biased cover. It was all just a set-up, said the legendary political satirist, to what we at the New Yorker really think of the great Senator from Illinois.

Say hello to...Mr and Mrs. Baruch Obama!

Barack Hussein Obama could be either be Muslim or Jewish. Barack is a Jewish name like Ehud Barack (Baruch) the former Isreali Prime Minister.

Well, sort of: "Barak" as in "Ehud Barak" means "lightning," not "Baruch." The name "Baruch" means "blessing." Although some Israelis are named Barak, it would not be a common name for Orthodox Jews like the ones portrayed in this parody.
