The financial uncertainty from Brexit threatens to weigh on the strong U.S. economy and undo some of the recovery seen since Obama took office.
"It's best for the dust to settle over the summer and during that time for there to be informal negotiations with other states," the chief executive of the Vote Leave campaign said.
"I don't believe it is right that I should carry on as the British commissioner as though nothing had happened."
