TED: Are Israel and Iran Destined to Enmity?

Posted: Updated:

There isn't a day when the current enmity of Iran and Israel isn't grabbing global headlines. But are these countries destined to be enemies? Is a war between the two inevitable?

Not at all. Behind the surface, there is a remarkably different story -- one of friendship and collaboration even at the height of their ideologiocal clashes.

And even their current enmity is resolvable.

I reveal why and how in this TEDTalk that I gave this past summer at the TEDGlobal stage.

It's essentially a 10-minute summary of the case I make in Treacherous Alliance -- the Secret Dealings of Israel, Iran and the U.S. (Yale University Press, 2007), which won the 2010 Grawemeyer Award for Ideas Improving World Order.

Now more than ever, it is important to take advantage of the opportunity for peace.
