Don't you think legislators should be tough on crime? I do, but I think we need to look at what is crime. I live in a county where a county employee stole expensive computer parts and was not put away. Same county, a commissioner offered an employee a bonus if she would kick back half of it, and was not put away. Same county, a family was supposedly given too much in food stamps and Medicaid, the county's errors, and they want to put him away. I know a kid who bought weed and was busted, jailed for several months, not put into rehab that he needed badly. Another guy at the buy flipped to stay out of jail and lied as the DA wanted him to so a minor misdemeanor got a person stripes. How does that make sense? Lay off the clubs. They are non-appropriated fund activities and don't use the same funds or same management. Congress doesn't write the checks for clubs as it does for barracks but I can see how someone would not know that. They are on the same real estate. Focus on the fact that Ft. Bragg does not take care of troop housing as it should. That's the commanders' fault. Back in the day, the Cavalry officers' motto was "First we take care of the horses, then we take care of the men, then we take care of ourselves." IMO the max legal compensation should be a multiple of the average hourly worker's salary, so maybe he could wind up with $1/2m total compensation, including stock options.
