Behind The Rise Of The Iraq's Counterinsurgents (And Why They're Failing)

UN - friggin - BELIEVABLE! Over 5 years into this mess and the best we've come up with is a cobbled together bunch of on-line correspondence courses under the supervision of four full-time employees? You call that a counter-insurgency program? For crying out loud, it just goes from bad to worse. posted 05/13/2008 at 22:39:18

West Virginia Uphill Battle For Obama

Thank you JUSTME. Very well put and exactly how I've been feeling the past several weeks.

And to jrterrier, no one is disputing their right to vote, but when their votes are based on willful ignorance it's fair to question the value of targeting their support. posted 05/09/2008 at 11:17:56

Obama, Clinton Turn Up Populist Charm With Campaign Settings

McCain calls Obama insensitive to poor people

Let me see... the old white guy is saying the young black guy is out of touch with poor folks???

and so he thinks cutting a few cents from the price of a gallon of gas is going to "little bit of money left over to enjoy some other things." Reminds me of when my grandpa would give me a dime to go buy myself a treat. posted 04/27/2008 at 20:32:49

TV SoundOff: Sunday Talking Heads

This weeks best LOL line:

"Kristol criticizes Obama for not being substantive enough. Let's pause to note the irony."

Dear, dear Jason you deserve a special award for slogging through this week's talking heads. What an unmitigated load of stale warmed-over crap! Thank you once again for saving me from having any desire to actually watch any of this bull. posted 04/27/2008 at 15:27:33

'Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy' Leader's Newspaper Backs Clinton

Come on, people! Have you not noticed that EVERY republican type when asked to make a choice says that Hillary would be the better candidate? Have you not noticed that EVERY reliable poll suggests that Hillary would be easier to beat than Barrack? Of COURSE Scaife wants to run against Hillary!

Does anyone for a minute believe that Scaife and his rag will endorse Hillary over McCain in November? I don't think so. posted 04/20/2008 at 17:15:01

Hillary Clinton Advocates "Poverty Czar"

This is one more typical kick-the-can-down-the-road "real solution" from Hillary. Similar to her other "solutions" like appointing a blue-ribbon committee or taking a "time out" to study something or other.

How about some REAL real solutions, Hillary? posted 04/04/2008 at 13:51:19

Top Clinton Aide: Wright Is Key Issue In My Talks With Superdels

Consider the source, people! Ickes, whom we know well has no scruples, says the the subject of Wright comes up in his discussions - but he doesn't say who brings up the subject. I'm guessing it is Ickes, himself. Of course that assumes his comment to Greg Sargent is even true. Who knows? posted 04/01/2008 at 16:46:39

Harold Ickes, Hillary's "Hammer"

I noticed this in the article:

"In December, she led Obama by 106 superdelegates. In early February, the number was down to 87. Today it is 36, according to Associated Press surveys."

Makes you wonder how much handwriting on how many walls the Clinton campaign needs to see the obvious. (Also makes you wonder why an article about Ickes' effectiveness has any value.) posted 03/31/2008 at 14:11:01

Architect Of Vast Right Wing Conspiracy "Reassesses" Hillary

Reading the comments here, I am amazed and saddened at how few get it. There is only one reason Scaife, et al are praising Hillary and that is because they want her to be the Democratic nominee, not the President. How transparent does that have to be? Can you really doubt that as soon as she won the nomination they would all turn on her like a pack of rabid wolves? To believe otherwise is... naive seems like too soft a word... maybe a "suspension of disbelief"? posted 03/31/2008 at 12:39:16

As Campaign Has Evolved, So Too Has Clinton's Tone

Wouldn't it be great if Obama would stay above the fray and studiously avoid any negative or potentially negative comments about Hillary and work tirelessly to make sure none of his surrogates ever engages in anything that could possibly be construed as an attack on Hillary? ..and get his butt kicked in the process? We've been down that road before (see Kerry, swiftboating). posted 03/31/2008 at 13:29:31

Clinton: Pledged Delegates Are "Like Superdelegates"

She cries crocodile tears for the poor voters in MI and FL who trudged dutifully to the polls to vote for her only to be "disenfranchised" by the mean old DNC. But now she wants to disenfranchise ALL the voters in EVERY state who voted for anyone but her. Sheesh! Move on Hillary. You're done. posted 03/25/2008 at 10:53:45

David Brooks Slams Hillary: "She Possesses The Audacity Of Hopelessness"

Now it's time for the superdelegates to step forward - especially those with a lot of clout - and support Obama. I understand there is a plan afoot to convene the supers after the last primary in order to force them to declare their intentions in June rather than waiting until the convention. I have no doubt that such a thing would tilt in Obama's favor, but it would inevitably taint the nomination with the stigma of a smoke-filled room deal. It would be far better for the supers to go public before the last big primary in PA in a few weeks. posted 03/25/2008 at 01:19:13

Bill Clinton: No Revotes Deliberate Attempt To Disenfranchise Voters

I'm surprised that no one else has questioned, as I have, whether Hillary will even complete her term, let alone run again for the senate if she fails to win the nomination. Is there any question that the Clintons have always viewed her election to the senate as a stepping stone back to the white house? posted 03/24/2008 at 20:16:40
