Top 10 Reasons Obama Defeated Clinton for the Democratic Nomination

One question: If Hillary Clinton is this phenomenal candidate, who had an heir of inevitability about her, and the much hyped "Clinton Machine" behind her, with her national appeal and the Clinton brand name...WHY CAN'T SHE CLOSE THE GAP ON THIS NOMINATION? Better question....why couldn't she close the deal after New Hampshire? posted 05/16/2008 at 10:32:13

Clinton Camp Tries To Redefine Delegate Math

Obama would have about 15 Million Democrats standing behind him if it ever came down to that moment....and yes he can comfortably say that they SHOULD NOT be included because for 1) he wasn't on the Michigan ballot and 2) he did not campaign in Florida. Clinton's massive leads usually disappear within a couple of weeks of Obama campaigning in a state.

And how about the estimated 2 million Democrats that didn't show up to vote in Florida because they though (as everyone else, Clinton included) that it wouldn't count. Or how about the 40% of people in Michigan that voted no to Clinton...shouldn't they have had a chance to properly choose the candidate they wanted?

Lastly....the FACT remains. Michigan and Floria only mattered to Hillary Clinton when she saw that there was no other path to victory. posted 05/06/2008 at 15:56:12

5) Popular vote is what matters!

6) Look! I win the electoral college race!

7) I can't win by the rules, lets throw the kitchen sink and instill doubts. Wright, Ayers, Rezko

The rest of the Super Delegates need to grow a spine and come out and support one candidate or the other. Seriously...it's about time. These people were put into their position's based on their decision making abilities and "inside knowledge" of the party.

The race is not going to change that much from here on out. Obama will win North Carolina, Indiana will be close (so close that it's not going to matter) and the rest of the states will go the way that everyone expected since after Super Tuesday. Clinton Slams Democratic Activists At Private Fundraiser

Just take a closer look at both candidates supporters:

Clinton is supported by people who don't know the issues. They are still day dreaming about the 90's when Bill Clinton gave them "all those good years". She thrives off of name recognition. If I was to take a wild guess (conservative by my estimate) I'd say that 50% of her votes in Primary's come from the Clinton brand name. Heck I witnessed it first hand at my polling stations here in Massachusetts.

Now Obama supporters follow the candidate. Grassroots. Every Democrats dream...it's what we thrive on. Bill had the same thing going for him in the 90's. They know the issues, they show up to events, they donate in record numbers. So in an attempt to marginalize their efforts and boost up Senator Clinton's weak non grass roots base you call those who show up to events "followers" and Obama the "messiah". They show to caucus because they care and are involved...activists. As if getting involved was a bad thing?

If this country had more "activists" who actually paid attention and participated we'd be in a lot better spot then we are right now. Democracy only works with "activists". Democracy relies on the people to get involved...without it....it is a flawed system. Obama's base is ready to change the world. Clinton's base will vote on name recognition....as if that didn't get us into enough trouble in 2000. posted 04/19/2008 at 09:55:17
