John McCain Gets Iraq Facts Wrong Again

The republicans have been so busy trying to mess with things in the democratic party that they have forgotten to take notice of the serious signs being given by their so-called nominee. Forgetting a name or saying something backward isn't uncommon in most older people, but when these things become a pattern and the person saying them doesn't immediately react to the fact that the statement is in error, something bigger has to be going on. John McCain is a war hero, but that doesn't automatically pave the way for him to be president. I think what should be a hum-ho convention for the republicans might become more heated and unsettled than that of the democrats. You can't have your nominee coming right out and basically saying he doesn't know how to fix things or that he doesn't understand economics. posted 04/01/2008 at 17:13:18

Pentagon Wouldn't Transport Gay Congresswoman's Partner, Pelosi Intervened

I guess my question would be what is the purpose of taking spouses on military planes on government missions? Don't we taxpayers get stuck for way too many of these unnecessary expenses? A "fact-finding" trip shouldn't require a spouse along....unless it's a veiled way of taking a vacation. posted 04/01/2008 at 12:43:35

Obama Fails To Assuage White Indiana Voters With Speech On Race

I can't believe that this early someone is actually writing a negative article regarding Indiana. When you say that folks remember how things were in the 90s it just shows Indiana voters to be "living in the past". Today we have an entirely new set of problems and the solutions back then just won't work now. If they would, don't you think someone would have tried them today? I think the Indiana voters are going to be very receptive to Barack Obama, because his message of hope is needed everywhere. I also believe they're going to be so repulsed by the negativity going on that they're going to see right thru it. As far as the republicans in the general election, I don't think they're going to throw the kitchen sink or swift-boaters at Barack because there are too many things in John McCain's life that are vulnerable. Also, many disallusioned republicans are STILL opting to vote for Barack. posted 04/01/2008 at 09:52:43

Clinton Says Obama Wants to Stop Votes

When Hillary's "opinions" are more like lies than the "mis-statements" she makes about her own battle experience, I'd say she's "losing it" in more ways than one. I think her money has dried up to the point that her desperation level hit a new high and she feels the need to say things that will definitely keep her in the public eye. I can't help but feel perhaps some of the moronic James Carville influence has pushed her over the edge. Must be a real let-down to go into 2008 thinking you have the nomination in the bag only to find out after the first voting that you don't. It's not a crime to stay in the race, but when the topics are so ridiculous that they bring a backlash of negativity, then it's time to either clean up the rhetoric or find something better to do with your life. Guess Hillary really isn't listening to the American voters - we don't want this kind of nonsense at a time when there are so many deeply disturbing topics to be discussed. posted 04/01/2008 at 09:36:14

Two Senior Advisors: We'll Tell Hillary To Resign If She Loses Indiana

To coin a phrase..."It's the money, stupid!" Hillary Clinton isn't getting the financial support from her base now that calls for her departure are being heard. We're also hearing that she's having money problems and that she's not purchasing air-time in Pennsylvania. But with the cable news networks splashing her face ad nauseam over their show after show after show, she really doesn't need to purchase anything as the media is giving it away for free. I don't care what Bill Clinton is swearing at these days! I don't care who Chelsea insults! I don't care what Hillary's lie of the day is! I've had enough of the very unfair and unbalanced news these so-called reporters have to offer and am shutting off my TV until after Obama is the nominee! Our country is in dire straits and the media is pushing a candidate who represents the very worst of the worst in politics, complete with threats, intimidation, race-baiting, and cons. If this is the only story Cable TV has to offer, they too are going to go down with the Clintons. posted 03/31/2008 at 13:48:17

Minn. Sen. Amy Klobuchar Endorses Obama

I guess I don't understand where Bill Clinton is coming from or who he is referring to when he says, "some people are talking" - if most Obama supporters are like me, they have begun to turn the channel or turn the TV off when the Clinton rhetoric starts. I don't mind listening to good healthy political talk, but when the talking stops if I haven't learned anything I've just wasted my time. Mike Huckabee, bless his heart, stayed in as long as he could on a shoestring of money, but he was decent and civil and didn't bring out anything but good feelings about his presence. I don't care if Hillary stays in until the convention, but it's her negativity that sets me off. It's as if the whole world is ignorant if they don't fall in line with the Clinton machine. I'm over 60 but I'm with the younger generation on this - we need a huge CHANGE - without this same silly hurtful politics that the country has endured for many decades. Follow the younger generation...they're on the right path. posted 03/31/2008 at 14:20:19

Obama Plays Nice In Pennsylvania

You may not want to believe it but there are many people who are familiar with the Clinton administration, the impeachment, embarrassments, the famous "what 'is' is statement, and long before this campaign ever began would not have voted for either Hillary or Bill. For most it has nothing to do with this campaign, the Clinton fatigue goes back more than a decade. Everyone needs to make up their own minds without being forced to do something they feel uneasy about. It's a personal thing. posted 03/31/2008 at 23:55:58

Here in Iowa, not only did we "gush" over Barack Obama's message in early January and give him his first win, but we reinforced our support for him just a couple of weeks ago with even more delegates. We're more "Archie Bunker" than Pennsylvania, but I think you're going to find that his supporters see the man, the American, the leader, and nothing else matters. Obama Set To Announce A New String Of Key Endorsements

fyi08 - Please take a look at what happened in Texas. Hillary was supposedly the winner there but Barack Obama continues to win delegates, lots more than Hillary does. There is a system to how Barack has been campaigning. I call it "smart" because it has amassed him lots more delegates than Hillary. Barack, a first-time national campaigner, has shown us by his organization how he will serve as our President, and it will be brilliant from day one. We can talk about lots of issues but what it all boils down to is Hillary and her famous machine forgot to read the rules regarding any of the states voting after February 5th. She was so convinved it would all be over LONG before Texas came into the picture that her campaign actually had no plans for after February 5th. You're a democrat and yes you will vote for the democratic nominee, but I can assure that you will be voting for Barack Obama, legitimately. posted 03/31/2008 at 08:24:44
It never ceases to amaze me how the Clinton machine keeps changing the bar or changing the rules midstream and many of the individuals who post on HuffPo are sucked into it all. As I recall, the Clinton campaign was so determined that they were in the solid lead to win the nominiation that they predicted it would be ALL OVER by Super Tuesday. Anyone remember how long ago that was? Hillary came INTO this race with a hefty lead in SUPERDELEGATES who had thrown their support a year ago!!! The problems for Hillary began when this dashing young man entered the picture and totally destroyed that huge lead she had. Was Hillary enthused or excited about continuing past February 5th....NO. Does she ACTUALLY give a hoot if people vote but not for HER? I think voters need to stop and look at the big picture. The ONLY reason Hillary is saying these insane things is to WIN...not for the good of the nation, but for herself! It is only thanks to Barack Obama that you last few States WILL be noticed. Barack intended to campaign in ALL states from the beginning, taking nothing for granted. Even if Hillary dropped out long ago, you'd still have seen Barack Obama in your state! posted 03/31/2008 at 08:07:38

Cash Strapped Clinton Fails To Pay Bills

Had to laugh when I read that story on how Bill was pleading with supporters to hurry and send in more money before April 1st so that their less-than-Obama funds raised wouldn't be so damaging. It just reminded me that I needed to send in another donation to Barack Obama. Am sure glad I did. It's kind of like a bonus because of his big win in Texas this weekend. posted 03/30/2008 at 23:35:08
I'm really glad to see this out in the public eye. The Sioux City Journal headline for Saturday was "Hill Pays the Bill; Art Center Waits Months for Campaign Appearance Payment". The Clintons held this event at our beautiful Art Center on January 1st and the cost was only $3400. Clinton loaned herself $5 million that month and yet couldn't pay this relatively cheap bill until March, and then had to make full payment in two checks. I think her supporters should know that their donations to her cause go first to pay the millions of dollars fee for Mark Penn and his cronies, instead of for the many debts amassed in all the voting states. Had the Clinton machine played a smart campaign like Barack Obama did, she wouldn't be so far behind. It's called reading all the fine print, examining all the alternatives and never fixating on imminent success. posted 03/30/2008 at 11:31:44

Clinton Vows To Stay In Race Until Convention

When Barack Obama began his journey last year he told his supporters that he wanted to change the old politics, the old way of doing business, and said that achieving that goal would be difficult as those who have been in power will not easily give it up. What has happened in 2008 is that the voters have embraced change, that same old politics the Clinton machine represents. We've had the rich powerful donors threaten the Speaker of the House, a Clinton supporter trash a Governor because his endorsement wasn't for Hillary as a warning to others who might follow suit, and the Clintons and their supporters bring up the race issue time and again only to deny it. What cons has Hillary perpetuated...the fake tears, the gender card, lies, marginal truths, outbursts and mood swings, and now her denial that she can't win. When the superdelegates come to their senses and file in behind Barack Obama it will be the first step of the end to tired old politics...and it will happen. posted 03/30/2008 at 00:07:09

Why Is Edwards Still Sitting On The Fence?

Clinton: Stick It Out or Withdraw?

ChrisS13 - and this is exactly why the superdelegates will be thinking very carefully before they go against the will of the people. The Clintons are not "we" people, everything to them comes out in "I" or "ME". When Bill Clinton first took office he had a democratic majority, but how long did it last? Everyone remembers the rule of Newt Gingrich during Bill's administration. Those superdelegates that remain are mostly elected officials who more than anything will be concerned about their own re-elections. Barack helped the democrats win Hastert's seat in Illinois and his ability to help others is excellent. Can the same be said of the Clinton's after prolonging this debacle? For me the answer is obvious and I'm sure for the majority of SD's it will be as well. posted 03/31/2008 at 08:54:16

What I first saw in Barack Obama was not that he bragged about himself or said he was better than anyone or that he was owed anything, but he came across as honest, intelligent, optimistic, and very real. I've told all my friends who are for others to attend one of his rallies...not to get them hooked but to let them feel the extreme patriotism he brings out in the crowd. At a time when I thought Hillary could make herself look better by standing up for her fellow democrat and saying that this kind of mud-slinging against a pastor was wrong, or even looking thru the entire sermon to let the public know this was just a republican smear, she chose instead to use it for her own advantage. Voters are no longer stupid - they pay attention, read the blogs and fact-check everything. Barack Obama survived the smear and his numbers are going up. Perhaps other voters saw it like I did. What took the cake was her trying to call her lie a "mis-statement" when she'd repeated it no less than 3 times. When we have our district and our state conventions I'm sure the enthusiasm will only be greater than ever!

Hillary has run a campaign based on yesterday's politics and is so naive when it comes to the new way of doing things that she's made herself look like a mammoth. The ONLY way she can possibly win is to force the super-delegates to GIVE the nomination to her on a silver platter by ignoring the will of the people. Bill Richardson has shown the wrath of going against the Clintons, but it can and MUST be done. I"m just wondering - Is the party going to split in half or are the super-delegates going to support Obama in droves and make the base not only larger but younger for a possible super-democratic majority for many years to come? posted 03/25/2008 at 14:20:48

Dear Mr. Carville...

Look at all the messages that have had the text deleted somehow. Wonder if this is what happens when people are voting? It's ironic this story is about the Clinton campaign - perhaps the Good Lord is trying to tell us something..... posted 03/25/2008 at 00:23:02
Apparently my comments were all edited out - hmmmm. As I was trying to say to emma70 - don't be fooled by the Clinton tactics used by Carville to try to convince the voters that Hillary isn't losing...because she IS losing. They have tried to throw the kitchen sink at Barack Obama, but nothing sticks, not even the race-baiting, lies, distortions, and nonsense coming out of Carville's mouth and the campaign. Voters are tired of the dirty tricks of yesteryear - and what Barack Obama has to offer is exactly what they want. Don't lose your confidence...the game has already been won but Hillary refuses to look at the scorecard. posted 03/25/2008 at 00:20:00

Metanarratives and Hillary's Honesty Gap

What makes your candidate, Hillary Clinton, any better than Barack Obama? He hasn't made lots of false promises he knows he cannot keep - we're comfortable with the changes he has to offer. To compare him to GWB is preposterous - they're like night and day. Hillary and John McCain, the twins, are both tied at the hip to Bush. posted 03/25/2008 at 00:41:19
Hillary's campaign is stalling on another debate. Before this last phase of the campaign Hillary had everything going her way, but now that the truth on all these issues is coming out I don't think there's anything she could say to convince the public that she's not a liar. There were many things she said in those debates that some of us knew were false, but she said them so loudly and with such gusto she convinced most of the audience that she knew what she was talking about. I think reality is setting in on the Clinton campaign. Voters are much smarter and have better access to research this time around - they're almost impossible to bamboozle these days. Obama Vacation Photo

I'm glad Barack Obama had the good sense to spend quality time with his family after months of pounding the pavement. When he gets back he'll be invigorated and refreshed and ready to hit the campaign road again. Anyone who has seen Hillary the past few days can see what happens when the unreachable goal takes precedence over time off. The older you get, the harder it is to keep up, and I think Hillary is afraid the public would see a "vacation" as a sign of weakness...when in reality it's what I call necessary, no matter how old you are. posted 03/25/2008 at 07:54:29

A McCain Moment: Do You Want Four More Years of This?

Take the time to listen to Wright's entire sermons! They are totally different from those 30 second clips. It's amazing to me that in this day and age people can be so bamboozled by so little! Anyone with Internet access can check the facts on anything thrown at them yet, like zombies, they choose to listen to what their party throws at them. Voters need to do the responsible thing on both sides - don't trust what you see and hear...check out the facts! posted 03/25/2008 at 08:14:53

When has Barack Obama ever compared himself to JFK, MLK, or Abraham Lincoln? If you look closely, Barack Obama is quite unlike anyone else who EVER ran for president, one who embodies the soul of all races. He's young, exciting, motivational, inspirational, and brings a unique optimism into the picture that we supporters all find extremely appealing. I remember John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King with good feelings, and even though some might disagree with me, I know Abraham Lincoln was an exceptional president, but none of them is equipped to handle today's problems - Barack Obama is. posted 03/25/2008 at 08:07:40

To MikeinDC - I'm sure glad you profess to be a Clinton supporter - Barack Obama doesn't need your poison. If you're not satisfied when Barack gets elected president, you have options to leave. You also have a serious anger problem - perhaps you should seek counseling to find out what's behind it all. I can't understand your last sentence - are you saying that Barack will win? Iif he does, yes, we can all look in the mirror and grin from ear to ear knowing that the right candidate got in. posted 03/25/2008 at 12:23:29
Quite honestly, with her phenominal "whopper" out there and not brought full-force into the public eye I don't think Madame Clinton wants to have to respond to those obvious questions that would be brought up! Also she doesn't want to have to explain why she and her husband are bad-mouthing a fellow democrat while praising the republican opponent. It's one thing to hoodwink a few people long enough to win an election but it's totally something else to have to face the music on national TV with the entire nation watching. Barack is in the lead and has responded to his detractors - Clinton looks like the spoiler no matter how a person views it. Bill Clinton thought it would make a bigger impact spouting off on the patriotic test in front of VFW members, but he's so ignorant in dealing with military life and thinking that he doesn't realize how offended those guys must have been to have an outsider, someone with NO military background, trying to talk to them about patriotism. Their thoughts and later comments definitely would not pass the censors on this forum...for sure. posted 03/24/2008 at 15:48:13

Clinton Camp Denounces Obama Iowa Supporter for Lewinsky Comments

Note to all Obama supporters....we do NOT need to get into the name-calling game. It's not going to do Barack or the party any good to slip into the dirty place the republicans want us to crawl into. Just remember, we have a super candidate who is a real gentleman, who speaks a message of unity and forgiveness, and who is in the LEAD at this point. Playing these kinds of games doesn't get votes and reflects negatively on the one we support. Gordon Fischer was overzealous in posting something offensive, but he has apologized, took the offensive text off-line, and we need to close this issue....NOW. If the Clinton supporters want to run this into the ground...let them. This will be a dead issue in a couple of hours because something new will hit the airwaves. Make a few phone calls on Barack's behalf, or if you're in Pennsylvania, pass out some flyers and talk to the public, or just mail in another donation. We need to stay focused on what is best for Barack's campaign. posted 03/24/2008 at 16:10:29

Do As I Say, Not As I Do: Bill Richardson Explains Why The Other Superdelegates Should Vote With Their States

So now the Clinton campaign is saying that Hillary has won more electoral college votes in the states she has won!!! What a farce!!! When you add in the republicans who have been coming out in DROVES to vote for Hillary, how can one possibly EVER think that she could get those votes in November??? It's dirty tricks time, folks. It's to the republican benefit to keep this debacle going while they try to build up some momentum with their marginal candidate, John McCain. What's comical is that there are so many negatives for John McCain to even consider he has a chance in the general is not only stretching it, it's the best farce of the century. LOL To begin with, why would someone who wasn't even good enough to be considered #2 in 2002 all of a sudden be the perfect candidate this time? Negatives are negatives - they don't go away because a party chooses to close its eyes. I'm waiting for that uncontrollable McCain temper to show it's nasty face when an innocent reporter asks the wrong question. This time the question will be pushed until McCain can't take it any longer and the race will be over. Obama WILL be president if he can win the democratic nomination...Hillary can't. She keeps comparing herself to her old pal, old buddy, John McCain. They're equals...remember that. posted 03/24/2008 at 11:46:54

My Take

It's quite probable that what Barack Obama got from those sermons was the initiative to go out and make this world better...to offer change that only he, as a bi-racial candidate, can. I also listened to those lengthier sermons and do so wish my own pastor would be as inspirational! To parse the words of Rev. Wright's sermon in 30 second clips is unfair and uncalled for. Thank you Plowboy for a great post! posted 03/24/2008 at 09:51:55
I for one think it's healthy to take a good hard look at what our government is doing and how we are perceived in the rest of the world. For those of us who objected to being the aggressor in Iraq, it's imperative that we as a country don't get so enveloped in actions like this that we cannot think for ourselves. There are those who say "How Dare you compare Bush to Hitler"? Yet, Hitler was an aggressive dictator and convinced his people to ignore the obvious and see his point of view. That's what free speech over here is all about...the ability to speak out and keep our government honest.

Racism is an issue that we NEED to put behind us. The younger generation are far and away ahead of we older generation Americans in their color-blindness. It's time for us all to wake up and realize that we can trust and look up to ALL our friends and neighbors in spite of our differences. It's time we quit holding Barack Obama up to a higher scrutiny than Hillary Clinton. Were the tables turned and Hillary were Black, would the media be pursuing the charges against her in a bolder way? If Obama were White would we still be pronouncing him guilty by association to his pastor? Perhaps the Media needs to take a good hard look at their reporting to see if some underlying racial prejudice is preventing them from equal / honest news stories.

We all have opinions, and that's good, but fairness at this time in our history is imperative. I don't want future generations to look back and say we were still too racist in our reporting! What has begun to open up those festering wounds should be allowed to play out in a fair and just way. The dialogue need to begin and end with the United States being truly "united" for the first time in our long history.... posted 03/24/2008 at 09:38:09

How can these idiots get on TV and try to convince people that their own personal opinions count! No wonder people say they turn off their TV during elections as it's idiots who come out to spin and spin and spin. Patrick Buchanan is the worst of the worst! Apparently MSNBC doesn't realize how much we viewers are turned off by his racial radical comments! Bring Bob Shrum on more often - he's the one guy who can take an unbiased look at issues without sounding like something straight out of a republican playbook. TV SoundOff: Sunday Talking Heads

Isn't it boring listening to more opinions rather than facts? For once I'd like to learn something of substance that I didn't know going in! One of the things I'd like explored is the fact that the republicans rant on and on about the terrible attrocities that Saddam Hussein did to his people and how WE HAD to go in to SAVE THEM. Well, how about having a little compassion for the minorities in our own country. Let's see, it's okay to spend trillions of dollars helping Iraqi people in a losing cause but it's NOT okay to spend even a fraction of that restoring the MINORITY communities in Louisiana and other states along the Gulf Coast that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina! If real people tackle real issues instead of force-feeding mediocre issues on us, we'd be a better country for it. I'm tired of pundits trying to convince me that Hillary "can still win" just to keep people tuning in to their shows or reading their papers. HE'S BACK: Bill Clinton's Campaign Remarks

How about adding that Hillary has alienated herself from all the small states that Obama won? She doesn't think any states except the BIG ones matter! That's why Iowa gave Barack Obama 9 more delegates. Only 45% of Hillary's elected delegates showed up at our county convention - and that was just one week ago! posted 03/23/2008 at 00:50:25
Has anyone ever considered that while Bill Clinton was busy being impeached, he took his eye off the ball and allowed the terrorists a great opportunity to begin their plan to destroy the twin towers and pentagon...then when GWB took over, he was having so much fun doing nothing he also had his eye off the country and thus allowed the final phase of the plans and then 9 / 11 to happen. Which was worse? Barack Obama has what it takes to make positive things happen - as Bill Richardson affirmed, we have a golden opportunity to have a great leader bring us back to greatness and a positive place in our world. Hillary Clinton has padded her resume and made lots of inaccurate statements in her desperation - for the super-delegates to support her would not only be an extreme "roll of the dice" but would have tremendous negative consequences. posted 03/22/2008 at 23:11:00

Instead of getting into democratic politics I think you and yours should be very worried about your own nominee who is going to get reamed in the general. You can ream Barack Obama all you want, his supporters aren't naive enough to believe the republican illusions. Instead of bad-mouthing Rev. Bill Richardson: Clinton Advisers "Kind Of Turned Me Off"

Please people...you need to get it through your heads that there are thousands and thousands of Obama supporters who have no history and no ties with the democratic party! Why should his non-democratic party supporters be forced to vote for Hillary Clinton? Hillary has the support of mostly democratic voters who will vote on the platform and for the candidate nominated by the party, even if it's Barack Obama. To not do so would be a sin for most party members. If the Clintons rile the African-American voter base in the democratic party thru racial smearing, those voters will just stay home. The party is in crisis if the super-delegates overturn the voters' will - and there will be no second chance to repair it. As most voters see it, the problem exists only if Clinton gets the nomination by stealing it. posted 03/22/2008 at 12:49:29

It might not come in the next six months but I can see a dramatic change in our unity if we all want it to happen. Is the Media's Pursuit of Horserace Coverage the Reason Sen. Clinton is Still Considered a Viable Contender for the Democratic Presidential Nomination?

I totally agree with you but would add that anyone who is confused about what the rules were back in 2006 and 2007 should get ahold of the video that was on CSPAN Easter night that shows HOW the rules were made, discussed and voted upon. Whether or not the delegates are seated or their votes are counted is NOT the job of any candidate, no matter what their history in the democratic party might be! For Hillary to come out and DEMAND the rules be changed mid-stream is ludicrous! For her supporters to offer to PAY for a re-vote sounds like a voter-fraud issue to me. I'd think Michigan and Floriday voters would applaud Barack Obama for keeping out of this issue. What Hillary Clinton is doing shows her desperation, that's all. I'm sure Barack would be taking the same stance if he were the one with the most votes- you have to let those who are responsible for the rules settle the issue....period. posted 03/24/2008 at 09:01:59

Obama Has Clear Money Advantage

Now, now...don't forget...we can't totally diss an old guy, especially one that has memory loss and other senior frailties. How Will Hillary's Bosnia "Whopper" Play in the Media?

The problem with MSM is that you see clips over and over and over again until people figure it HAS to be the truth. A good example is the clips of Rev. Wright's sermons...if you look at the entire sermon it has an entirely different meaning than the text out of context infers. The assumption is that most people don't go to the bother of checking things out, which is sadly true. I look forward to an Obama ad that shows this big lie Hillary is telling. If truthfulness in government is what the people want, she cannot now prove she can provide it. posted 03/23/2008 at 10:52:36
Who really cares about what Rev. Jeremiah Wright preaches in his church either, for that matter? There is a separation of church and state except during presidential elections. My feelings are that if you splash the one nonsensical story all over the tubes then the others of equal mediocre value have to be splashed all over the tubes as well. My late father always told us that once a person lies and is caught in that lie, everything else that person says is not believed. In Hillary & Bill's case, I think they're both such accomplished liars that they actually believe their lies...and that's dangerous. If the networks refuse to give this the expose' treatment, I'd say every Obama supporter should shut off their TV's and rely on Internet and newspapers for their political news until the election. I do believe Keith Olbermann is the only political host who has the ability to tackle issues like this - Monday night will let us know for sure! posted 03/23/2008 at 00:17:29

My question is...why did Bill Clinton refer to only the white candidates as being patriotic? Are his true feelings coming through in his hour of desperation? This is not only a super gaffe but may explain further his lack of feeling for anyone other than himself and winning. But at what expense? I wish someone could give me one good reason why Hillary is still in the race. She's behind in the delegate count, behind in the popular vote, has won only a fraction of the states Barack has, plus the votes in Michigan and Florida will not make a difference. If she's waiting for the super-delegates to negate the will of the voters all across our great country, I think she'll find they're not the typical "dumb voters" she depends on, as Bill Richardson proved this past week. if they're planning to create a civil war by bringing up the race issue again...that won't work either as the general public isn't falling for it this time. posted 03/22/2008 at 09:24:19

McCain Spiritual Guide Accused Gov't Of Enabling 'Black Genocide'

Doesn't anyone remember "separation of church and state?" If we are going to hold our candidates responsible for every word, every syllable, every casual remark of every spiritual advisor or pastor, we the voters will be the losers. Mitt Romney was a fine republican candidate who was rejected because of his Mormon faith! Cut this nonsense out!! Take the time to listen to the entire sermons of Rev. Jeremiah Wright - Barack Obama's pastor. Those little 30 second clips do not represent a true picture of the sermons. We as voters need to be more alert to those who try to "hoodwink" us. Reality check here - If you as a democrat want to send your babies to war for the next 100 years, go ahead and vote for McCain! if you stay home and don't vote...that's just fine because Barack Obama doesn't need you in order to win. Hillary cannot win without Obama's voters - like it or not he's got a lot of independent and republican voters who are with him come hail or high water. Would I vote for Hillary...no, not under any circumstances. Obama Campaign Responds With Kitchen Sink Conference Call

Hillary Clinton had the opportunity to make herself look better the past few weeks when Barack Obama was being hit hard by 30 second clips of his pastor saying things out of context, but she chose to remain silent. Why? She thought this was the only way she could sneak in and force Barack Obama out of the picture. Super-delegates were contacted by Hillary's campaign and were told Obama was un-electable and that they should throw their votes to her. Now that the entire text of those speeches is being made available, the words are not nearly as powerful or divisive as they were made out to be. In reality the sermons were thoughtful, well given, and meant to make the congregation BETTER people. Actions speak louder than words. Barack Obama was not ready to throw his pastor under the bus just to appease his detractors, because he knew him to be better than that. Obama Endorsed By Bill Richardson

Hillary Clinton had a golden opportunity to show the world that she was really human by coming out and putting in a good word for Barack Obama the past week or so, but instead of doing the right thing, she gloated at his situation and even contacted super-delegates trying to convince them Obama was unelectable. Funny thing is, nobody but John Murtha , one who also voted FOR the Iraq war, bought it! When the super-delegates finally realize that enough-is-enough and that they're allowing the republicans to slaughter the democratic hope for a victory in November by all this in-fighting, Obama will indeed be the nominee of the party. Hillary's endorsement of John McCain for president will be firmly etched in the minds of super-delegates too. Of all the un-democratic party things to do, I'd say this is the worst! And thank you Bill Richardson!! Even tho' Bill Clinton tried to woo you to the other side, you were man enough to study the situation and come up with the right choice! posted 03/21/2008 at 09:26:46
