If we are ever going to move past issues of race, now's the time. It's easy to talk about someone if you've never walked a day in their shoes. As a black woman who works in corporate PR, I shuttered when I heard Wright would be at the NAACP and Press Club addressing the controversy. As "charged" and opinionated as he may be and comes across -- I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride that he stood up for what is often whispered about in black circles. It's real and I applaud him for doing what many would not.

I joined the Obama campaign in Harrisburg, PA on Saturday and had cocktails with a Hillary supporter following the huge rally. While HRC supporters typically dislike Obama supporters -- and visa versa, I had a civilized conversation with this supporter and I was optimistic when she said Rendell did not share her views when he made that comment months ago.
While we both walked away still supporting our respective candidates, I felt relived to know that "we can" rally at the end to support the democratic candidate who survives the primaries -- no matter if she is a woman or he is a black man.
