New Yorkers are for Clinton? Perhaps at MSNBC studios, but I don't feel it downtown. Even further downtown (Wall Street) she appears to have had a resurgence since Dodd dropped out. They seem to trust the Clinton name, good for profits I presume. But the financial crowd is hardly New York City... unless you see the world as the host of HardBalls. Go above 104th st.....

The Difference Between Tough and Inappropriate Questions

Perhaps "the press" is giving McCain a handicap so that they can reap the ratings of a close race which needs "analysis" and "in depth reporting." The worst thing for all these news stations would be a clear winner with 7 months of 24/7 news to fill. Unless they can stage the abduction of several cute white girls and perhaps get OJ to escape to Argentina by hijacking a plane, they are seriously screwed. (They won't cover the Iraq or Afghanistan wars because that is part of the McCain handicap.) The only channel on TV that should not have a problem with substantive 24/7 news is the WeatherChannel, which would be having a heyday with McCain's gas-tax takes a holiday and Bush's "complicated" science if they weren't complicit with the other stations in the McCain handicap. (Even if the WeatherChannel really did report on these issues their dull elevator jazz music makes watching them for more than one local forecast unbearable.) posted 04/20/2008 at 08:25:44

Carter's Hamas Hallucination

Amb. Ginsberg wrote, "Carter could have conditioned his Hamas Cairo and Damascus meetings with a pre-negotiated commitment to receive something tangible in return, such as a ceasefire by Hamas against further missile attacks against Israel, or a release by Hamas of Israeli soldiers it is holding captive." I love these diplomats who want a desired result of a negotiation to be the entrance fee. I also love it when Republicans and some Dems. and Independents study Israel for ideas on how to deal with terrorism. It simply makes no sense. They have been terrorized for nearly 50 years without any real let up. We should study them on how not to deal with terrorism.
Carter is trying to do something positive. He has had some good results in the past. What sorts of peace deals does Abm. Ginsberg have in his portfolio?

And another thing... What is collateral damage once all the apologies and the excuses evaporate and disappear?
