Michelle Obama Talks About "Guilt" Women Hold

Apparently you don't have any first hand knowledge. After looking for a job for 4 years, I had to leave my 6 year old for a year for a fellowship and send money home to my mother to take care of her. I cried for a week straight. It is a painful choice to make. Most people's lives don't pan out they way they would like them to, but that is no reason for people like you to throw stones. I also now care for my mother and grandmother who live with me, which is not how I envisioned my life, but I don't think I should be bashed for trying to work and have a better life, and neither should any of the other hard working women in this country. posted 07/10/2008 at 20:10:13

Obama On Late Abortion: Mental Distress Doesn't Justify It

Okay, if you guys don't see what the media is trying to do here, something is seriously wrong with you. Who would approve of a late term abortion because the mother is clocking out? Do you know how utterly ridiculous that sounds. If the baby has a chance to survive, why not let it? That's what adoption is for. I'm against abortion, but I feel that if God can give us all free will, then the government should not impose their will on anybody. Every woman is free to choose; however, killing something that can survive on its own is murder. The issue of when life begins is not even at issue.

This is no different than the stand he has taken previously.

Wesley Clark Stands By McCain Criticism

Almost every commercial McCain has put out has that picture of him in Hanoi. Every last one. He never lets anyone forget it. He is so self-absorbed he really thinks that no one else suffered in Vietnam. At least he has had every advantage since he returned. Most veterans were treated like crap when they returned home. He has been basically honored since he returned, which is more than I can say for the thousands of other POW's who are currently homeless or on drugs, never able to completely put the ordeal out of their minds. Okay, well when is Hillary going to acknowledge that there was racism in this campaign, some of which came from her husband? What pastor in the history of presidential elections became a thorn in his church member's side? How about Hagee and Parsley? They've been supporting Republican candidates for years, yet no one cares if THEY endorse. Rev. Wright didn't even endorse Obama. Hell, I disagree with my pastor sometimes, too, but I don't abandon.

I think that a lot of Hillary supporters are missing a huge point here. There is another group of people who are being very hurt by all of this, and that is people like me-black people. We are very proud of Obama. I really thought that we would see a white female President before a black man. I was skeptical of Obama at first, but when I heard him and read his stance on the issues, he won me over. It had nothing to do with him being black, contrary to what many may think. The issues Hillary talked about affect black women like me, too. I think that a lot of white women don't understand that. Add to that the fact that we are mostly single and taking care of our mothers and grandmothers adds even more stress. These people hate Obama for no reason. I just heard on Chris Matthews say that there is nothing that Obama has done to Hillary that was sexist and if anything, he got more grief from Hillary than vice versa.

I think its really selfish for her supporters to feel like they are the only ones who wanted something this go around. We as minorities wanted to see someone who looks like us succeed, too, but there is not doubt I would have voted for Hillary if she had won. I've voted white before, and I'm sure I will again. posted 06/27/2008 at 17:54:03

We can't expect to owe China the value of half of our country because we borrowed money from them to pay for a war in the Middle East (which, btw, is where most of the oil is). Energy has to be diversified, just like the market. Change must take place in increments across the board. Ethanol is part of the big picture which encompasses all forms of energy at our disposal and even some we haven't thought of. While we are fighting, Honda and Toyota are coming up with cars that are running off of water. We need to stop feeding the oil companies royalties for their desire to be the lessors to half of our coastline and start focusing on what we need-Honest answers and some realism. posted 06/23/2008 at 13:51:44

Sen. Lindsey Graham Flacks McCain, Offers Hysterical Histrionics On Meet The Press

If I'm not mistaken, the questionnaire to which they are referring asked Obama if he would agree to public financing IF HIS OPPONENT DID. McCain did not officially agree to public financing until Friday. How freakin' convenient. That's the part you left out.

BTW, Clinton was a pretty good President, and after 8 years of Bush, you should agree. posted 06/23/2008 at 10:56:45

Michelle Obama's Strategy To Woo Clinton Voters

Most of the "scandals" of the last 8 years have come from the Republican Party-Tom Delay, Newt Gingrich, Larry Craig, Scooter Libby, etc. Aren't they white, or are they just black people with vitilago?

Obama Backs Bill Giving Immunity To Telecoms

Don't try it. This is a blip, but you will convince NO ONE on here to vote for McCain except for the trolls. We may not always agree completely with Obama, but we NEVER agree with McCain. posted 06/20/2008 at 21:11:31
No, they do not have immunity in that circumstance. I think that we have to look at the entirety of this legislation and the consequences of protesting too much. Obama, like the rest of us, have to pick our battles. posted 06/20/2008 at 21:09:23
I just heard that Obama is still leaving open the possibility of going after telecoms for CRIMINAL offenses. One thing I have learned about Obama is that he is always looking at the big picture, and always thinking ahead. Don't write him off just yet. He has to get in first, and he's already fighting an uphill battle with a lot of people who would normally vote Democrat. posted 06/20/2008 at 21:07:27

Obama Silent as Democrats Give Bush More Spying Powers

I don't think some of you get it. Bush will VETO anything that doesn't look like what he wants, and there aren't enough Democrats in Congress to override a veto. Add to that the millions spent by the lobbyists, and you have exactly what we have right now. Obama has just won the nomination, but I have heard him speak out on this. For any of you to think, though, that the man who is supported by the people has enough pull before he even gets into office to stop something that was in the works before he even got to the Senate, you're deluding yourselves. posted 06/20/2008 at 10:28:22

McCain: I 'Didn't Love America' Until Held Prisoner (VIDEO)

Immigrants came over here VOLUNTARILY moron. Ellis Island doesn't apply to black people, because we didn't come over on that ship, remember? Blacks have been treated like crap, and when the heat was applied to the oppressors, they threw a bone (welfare) and then demonized the system after they created a system that penalized welfare recipients for being married, which forced many black men away from marriage. The whole thing was systematic. Why do you think that after desegregation of public schools all of these private schools popped up? Why do you think Republicans push for vouchers so much? The system has created a system that was not intended to repair the damage done to a whole race of people, but was used to initially pacify black people temporarily and when they became dependent on that system, label them as lazy and pull the rug from under them. More white women have benefitted from affirmative action than any other group. BTW, just because they let a black person into Princeton or Yale doesn't mean that they allow them to graduate. If you're John McCain, however, you don't have to be a scholar to be President. You can barely graduate and become a pilot and President. posted 06/20/2008 at 08:04:21

Obama Could Raise $500 Million In Final Two Months Of Campaign

In order to be a victim, there must be an antagonist. Any idea who that might be Einstein?

All conservative means is selfish. All conservatives are selfish, and, despite their religious rhetoric, ignore the most important question: Do you love your neighbor as yourself? Do you help the least of these? Or are you like the man who took his gifts and buried them in the sand instead of putting them to good use?

Is that what you are? posted 06/20/2008 at 10:32:14
Hold on. Didn't the questionnaire ask what Obama would do if his opponent accepted public financing? Doesn't that question presuppose that the opponent actually accepted public financing? How can McCain accuse Obama of being dishonest about agreeing to public financing when McCain hadn't even accepted it yet?

This is an attempt by the McCain campaign to paint Obama a man who doesn't keep his word. It's a low tactic, especially coming from someone who would have been dust if the FEC actually had a quorum (which Bush is blocking) to inquire into his campaign finance dodging and wavering. posted 06/20/2008 at 08:19:26

Press Dissatisfied With Treatment From Obama Campaign

I'll give you an excellent example of why Obama treats the press the way he does:

After the media frenzy and crucifixion of Obama during the Wright/Ayers scandal:

He foregoes campaign financing, even though he said he would actively pursue it with the Republican nominee, even though McCain just announced today that he would take it after opting for it, then opting out, now opting back in, and after proclaiming that he can't "referee the 527's".

Did McCain REALLY expect Obama to forego his fundraising machine when he has to fight his attack dogs who are bashing his wife and smearing him? Would he have done it?

The media won't cover this, though, and the media wonders why Obama carefully opens up to them? posted 06/19/2008 at 20:52:05
