I've taken Amtrak between to NYC a couple of times recently. Much more relaxing then flying. Technical problems on one trip. You get dropped right in Manhattan. No trip from Queens. No get there two hours before for extensive searches. You can use your cell phone, computer etc the whole time. You can go to the snack car and eat like a human being. Tons of room compared to a jet. Zero stress level. Its actually relaxing. In the corridor between Miami and Boston this should be the prime mode of travel. But that would take investment to improve things. It will happen but only after much much much more pain first. We just don't get it but after getting smashed on the face with a 2x4 a few more times we might. posted 06/22/2008 at 10:02:54
