I grew up in the Bay Area. Now I live in LA. I've been an independent thinker, and progressive all my life, but I didn't start really paying attention to politics until it became clear that my country was dealing with the kind of tyrant Orwell had nightmares about. Since then I've been pushed to the edge of sheer outrage and disgust with our leadership and my fellow countrymen so many times, that I've been forced to really carve out my principles and intellectual understandings of our issues.
I've learned that I love a debate, and I have an insatiable appetite for keeping myself and others honest. That's why in a liberal haven like this site, you may find me eating my own a little bit but it's not because I'm a concern-troll or one of those contrived "centrists" or self-righteous libertarians, but because I'm genuinely frustrated when I see my own kind falling into traps and being weak.
