Truth is the First Casualty. Logic is the Second. The Democratic Party is the Third.

Here's another interesting tidbit, circulating somewhere ona Youtube link near you.
That young girl who was sound asleep in Sen Clinton's 3:00 am phone call ad is now old enough to vote. She's not only voting for Sen Obama, but she's also put out her own Youtube video, and send up of that ad.
(I don't go to Youtube often enough to know how to find stuff, but it is out there). posted 04/01/2008 at 13:02:56

Architect Of Vast Right Wing Conspiracy "Reassesses" Hillary

This is one reason why I support Sen Obama (my third choice for candidate). I fail to see how this is an "Obamabot vs Clintonista" issue.

Sen Clinton has been in the public eye for 16 years, and STILL cannot generate much more than a 49% approval rating among mod Reps and Independents...the very ones needed to win a General Election. Sen. Obama, however, can (and does) attract those voters. This "vast, right-wing conspiracy" which Scaife orchestrated (and which I do believe did occur) has been so successful at demonizing Sen Clinton that her appearance at the top of the Dem ticket will not only turn off indeps and Mod Reps, but will also galvanize the rank and file Reps to swamp the polls--not to vote for McCain but to vote against Sen Clinton. This is why the Reps desperately want Sen Clinton as the Dem candidate...and the deciding factor for me when I decided to support Sen Obama, a decision made in the last few days leading up to the party caucus in my state.

Nobody can honestly say that scenario is wrong, either.

I do respect Sen Clinton's wilingness to appear before her "enemies" and stand her ground. She definitely has more balls than the current resident of the White House. posted 03/31/2008 at 15:01:00

Hooked on Hillary

Oh, come on now!! This argument is SOOO bogus! Maybe Sen. Clinton should step down because all she's got left are excuses and victimization!

Republicans weren't "sexist" when they kept pressuring Huckabee and Rep. Paul to step aside. Huckabee and Paul did, however, have the class to simply say, "No" and keep going as long as they thought they needed to. But then, they didn't have a "gender" card to play either.

And I'm not buying her "not being bullied by the big guys" either. When it comes to Democratic Party political clout, Sen. Clinton is no lightweight.

This type of "pressure" has been going on for a long time in politics. posted 03/31/2008 at 14:29:25

It's Time to Reregulate Business

The greatest problem is the myth of deregulation. Conservatives really love to implement policy based only on theory--speculation--which has little bearing on the real world. Deregulation is just one such myth. We may have "deregulated" the airline industry, for example, but as a result, the US airline cos. have the worst service in the world.

The other problem is that Presidents Reagan and both Bushes have systematically belittled and mocked big government. By portraying the Federal government as inept, and then implementing policies to pull its teeth, our Federal government is now facing an employment crisis, according to a recent Newsweek article. We don't have enough employees to inspect and enforce the way the government should.

Maybe the incoming Democratic President should appoint Ralph Nader to head the Consumer Protection Agency. Give the poor fellow some way to do something useful. posted 03/28/2008 at 17:35:20

25% of Anti-Obama Dems Think He's a Muslim

Hmm...and here I thought this Rev. Wright controversy would put all of this foolishness to rest.

Boy, was I wrong!

But I'd rather be wrong from making an intelligent deduction, which is infinitely preferable to being wrong out of fear, ignorance or stupidity. posted 03/28/2008 at 16:51:40

A McCain Moment: Do You Want Four More Years of This?

This also highlights the danger of this prolonged Democrat wrestling match. McCain has the time now to save campaign money and travel overseas, building credibility (such as it is) on foreign policy expertise. But Sens Obama and Clinton can't do that just yet. Whoever wins the Dem nomination won't have the time to build this type of networking and credibility before the November election. posted 03/25/2008 at 13:12:43

John Adams: God Damn America

You'll notice that this Rev. Wright controversy has squelched all speculation regarding whether or not Sen Obama's really a closet Muslim? posted 03/21/2008 at 14:53:00
The irony, of course, is that this viewpoint is what got us into Iraq, and will probably keep us there until cats evolve into sentient beings and take over the world.

But our Founders also built in a contingency for that as well; it's what impeachment is supposed to be about. Too bad that some of our representatives have taken that off the table too.

As a result, getting our representative democracy to heed the will of the people is becoming increasingly difficult.
