Bush: I Gave Up Golf For The Troops

Don't blame Bush for being President..he is what he is. Put the blame on the people who voted for him twice and the news Media who never once took him to task on his many blunders. Put the blame on the many Republican in Congress who put Party first and this Nation second. Put the blame on the swift-boaters who took Kerry down and did a disservice to this Nation. Put the blame on our Judicial system that took Gore down in defeat. Put the blame on the Democratic Party for being such wimps during the first and second elections and allowing the Republican Party to dominate. Put the blame on the news Media for not doing their job in overseeing all that was wrong and then doing nothing about it. posted 05/13/2008 at 19:57:46

Superdelegates put Obama within mathematical reach

The American people must realize that with Barack you get Michelle....with Hillary you get Bill. Which couple do you want in the White House?..and which would be best for our Country. The choice should be a clear!! posted 05/13/2008 at 20:30:08

Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty Jokes His Wife Won't Have Sex With Him

So who really gives a damn.......how ridiculous can the media get...This is nothing but tabloid news and should not be shown here. We need to skip the 24/7 news and go back to reporting what is really significant to the American people and not this garbage...This is but another example of why the American people have lost faith in our news media if this is all they can come up with!! Shame on the Huff Post.!! posted 05/12/2008 at 19:50:01

CNN Poll: George Bush Most Unpopular President In Modern History

These poll numbers come from people who are influenced by the Media and the Media has not done its job in bringing the truth in news on Iraq to the American people. The poll numbers on the negative side would be much greater and more damaging to this president had the Media done its job. With 30% of the American people in favor of the Iraq War you must question their source of information and how they are so influenced by what they see and hear. You would think 100% of the American people would be against this War as it is a fruitless one with no end in sight and draining this country of financial resources and greatly effecting our economy. All the signs are there yet there are those that still don't see it. If people do not reach out to other news and information sources they will never know and fully understand the true tragedy of this conflict and how it will effect this Nation for decades to come. The Media has become a major influence on our society and in affect controls and shapes our future whether we realize it or not. That is a tremendous responsibility and one that so far, has been grossly negligent on their part. posted 05/01/2008 at 17:37:42

ABC Debate: High Ratings, Critics Give Broadcast Poor Reviews

This is but another example of just how "out of touch" the news Media is when they place little importance on significant issues facing this Nation, and where gossip seems to be the Headliner. The news Media today no longer provides a service to the public but a disservice. We need to know what the candidates stand for and how they can best serve our Nation. Bill Clinton became a lame-duck president in his last years and was unable to fully serve this country thanx to the relentless Media's pursuit of trash tabloid news. The important issues of the day are the economy, soaring oil prices, global warming , the falling dollar, high food prices, housing foreclosures, rising health costs, social security, retail bankruptcy's , taxes, War, US border problems, education, US infrastructure, rising fuel costs, employment, the national debt, etc...we .don't need to be spoon fed tabloid news. posted 04/17/2008 at 19:30:17

Bush: General Petraeus "Will Have All The Time He Needs"

Same old tune. When is this congress going to come to grips with the failed situation in Iraq and do something meaningful to end this tragedy? When are the American people going to demand more accountability from this administration? Most Americans seem to be totally disconnected from this War and the diversity that help forge this country of ours and stimulated patriotism seems to have lost its way. We are still a diverse nation but more fragmented than ever before. So many conflicting accounts on the Iraq War as to make it so confusing that we don't know who to believe anymore. Add to that the many pressing domestic issues thus taking us further away from the reality of Iraq. Our peak period in History has passed..as a people we are becoming more isolated and we don't care to know what is going on in the rest of the World. History has shown that as much as we try we just can't get it right. posted 04/10/2008 at 20:51:44

Michael Ware On Iraq Hearings: I Just See A Lot Of Oxygen Being Wasted Here

I agree....a lot of oxygen wasted. Did anyone really expect anything different from these congressional committees?. A total waste of time and energy and as usual a sham on the American people. We have our soldiers dying over there and all this political rhetoric over and over again makes one sick. The General is beholding to Bush and therefore his testimony should be very suspect.. .
After all his boss is claiming progress in Iraq despite the facts being otherwise. So nothing accomplished...nothing gained....in reality Iraq is worse off now than under Saddam. The present government, is actually just a puppet government under US control and will fail without US support. we should not expect US Troop withdrawals anytime soon no matter who the next president is. Of course let us not forget the Oil and why we are there in the first place. The US will maintain a presence in that part of the World for a very long time if just to protect their interests or should we say the interests we have so conveniently taken from the Iraqi people. After all, Oil is what the World runs on and it is vital to make it readily available and protect its source.... a matter of our National Security??? posted 04/08/2008 at 20:17:08

Fighting Erupts In Baghdad After Week Of Relative Calm

Michael Moore's Film Documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" was a powerful account of neglected facts and a host of untruths that led this country into War. It clearly showed the incompetency of our President; the hypocrisy of our congress and the weakness and bias of our Media. This Documentary should have easily swayed the thinking of the American people into demanding more accountability from this administration....but it did none of that. Instead it was put on the back shelf ...out of sight and out of mind. Michael Moore called the American people stupid, maybe near-sighted would be a less harsher word. In any case most Americans seem to be totally disconnected from the reality of this War and that will only fuel its continuance. Mixed information from both Parties on the progress or lack of...in Iraq and Afghanistan only serves to further confuse an already confused public. If Michael Moore's Documentary was made mandatory viewing and some brave reporters were able to film; record and actually show the current situation over there it may make a difference in shortening this War. But can we handle the truth? No-one...not the President, Congress nor the American people are doing enough to bring some type of closure to this War. The next President will have the opportunity to change that if he/she can win the confidence of the American people and gain the full support of Congress...a very big if !! posted 04/06/2008 at 22:37:14

Sunday Roundup

There is an old saying "Be careful what you wish for it may come true"..The Huff Post along with all levels of the Media are relentless in their bashing of Hillary. She cannot even get the full support of her own party in allowing full delegate representation. Many Democratic voters favoring Hillary are not happy with all of this and the end result may be tragic for the Democratic Party. Hillary has shown her strength and resiliency through all of this and out of the three she may be our best hope to turn this country around. The continued bashing of Hillary by the Media will certainly give Obama the edge in securing the Democratic nomination and the Republican "Swift boat" machine can then begin its ugly work. What can they say about Hillary that hasn't already been said?..but Obama is another story. Add that to the many disappointed Hillary voters and you will have a Party switch of allegiance to either McCain or Nader. A vote for Nader will be a vote for McCain so either way McCain will win. The American people do not fully realize just how influential the Media is in shaping our daily lives. With 24/7 mainly biased news the Media influenced the outcome of the two past Presidential Elections and will once again be the main determining factor in the outcome of this one. posted 04/06/2008 at 12:59:53

Fierce Iraq Fighting Forces War Back Onto Campaign Trail

McCain's argument of early withdrawal of American troops from Iraq resulting in widespread violence, instability and genocide....exactly what is now taking place even with our full complement of American forces. The longer the US remains the longer all of this will continue to go on and over a period of time will result in a much greater number of casualties for both sides than early withdrawal. The US did not learn its lesson from Vietnam..a bloody conflict with an enormous number of American casualties and for what gain? Early withdrawal would have saved a countless number of American lives with no change in the final outcome. We retreated to late from Vietnam after no hope for Victory was known long before, and the country stands today in spite of it all. There will come a time when American troops must depart from Iraq but how many more have to die before that decision is made? How many lives are worth the price of Iraqi Oil ? posted 03/29/2008 at 23:55:38

Bush: Iraq Violence A Necessary Part Of Development

In short, the Iraqi government cannot do it alone without the aid of US forces. This has been the case all along. This administration has got us into a messy War with virtually no end in sight. The British left Basra and the city is coming apart. As much as many Americans would like a US draw-down in Iraq it just ain't going to happen...at least anytime soon. The next administration will be saddled with this monumental problem and in reality there is very little that can be done to end it. This terrible nightmare will continue until acted on by a sane administration that we are not making any meaningful progress in Iraq and the staggering cost in resources and lives are just to much. Iraq will be left on its own with a very fragile government for easy takeover. There will be much further violence as internal factions move for power. Out of all this may come another Saddam to gain control of Iraq by whatever means necessary ..as this may have been the only solution all along because there was never going to be a Democracy. That is not their way. They only know strong leadership. The US will leave Iraq to finally fend for itself but will make compromise for the Oil, whomever is in charge. .History will reflect all the waste in human suffering this War will have caused and be our doing by electing the man responsible for it all. . posted 03/28/2008 at 20:35:10

US Forces Launch Airstrikes in Iraq

Iraq's Prime Minister sets then resets a deadline for those fighting to turn in their weapons....Yeah! Right!...It is all a case of PR Bull for the American digestion. Next to their family, a weapon is the most cherished possession especially in a land of continued violence. It is a symbol of strength, status, and commitment for them...The Iraq PM knows that all to well...so the ultimatum he spews if just for our benefit..it will go completely unheeded since the real power in Iraq is not the PM. It is the local Militias who will ultimately decide the fate of Iraq. posted 03/28/2008 at 10:22:01

Woman Says TSA Forced Piercings Removal

I cannot believe the Huff Post would waste print on such nonsense. CNN, and other Media including tabloid magazines yes...but the Huff Post I thought a more responsible and committed to real journalism type Media. We do not need more tabloid press....so Huff Post get with it !! Our World, our country is in trouble and the American people who read the press should not be diverted, as they often are, from the real issues facing our future. posted 03/28/2008 at 10:37:25

Ledger's Passing Stokes Joker Mania

Superhero movies today are nothing like the comic book and most probably are not meant to be. After all, comic book hero's were for children but today they are mostly on the Dark side especially appealing to adults. When the early Superman movies came out with Steve Reeves the first was very entertaining then Superman takes Lois to his Fortress of Solitude and has sex....totally out of character for Superman and I am sure disappointed many children who were at a total loss. The Superhero movies of today are no longer for children's fantasy as are the modern comic books that seem to be more for warped minds. The movie industry and comic publications today have taken the Superhero's of childhood memory and turned them into complicated, demented, unstable characters with an attitude. posted 03/27/2008 at 23:31:54

McCain Says US Succeeding in Iraq

McCain's thoughts and prayers go out to all the families of all those Americans who lost their lives...he says he does this every day...What is this man shovelling??. Does he read what is going on at this moment across the South of Iraq. Violence is on the increase. His view of the surge limited to Baghdad may be an improvement of sorts but the violence goes beyond Baghdad and spreading. His counterpart Bush has the same rhetoric and it is all so so phony. I can't imagine the American people falling for all this Bullxxxx talk .and really believe that McCain and Bush actually take time out every day in thoughtful prayer for all those soldiers killed or wounded. ....but many do. It makes you wonder just where this country is heading. Wake up America! ...there is "No Victory" in Iraq only more bloodshed for our people there and the Iraqi people caught in the middle of this War. The Media press bashes Hillary with no letup...McCain bashes himself with continuing untruths and hollow statements...Obama is being bashed because of his questionable affiliations that fan the fire for Racial hatred in America etc....so where does all this leave the American people come Election time on choice of candidates? Ralph Nader may be our only real hope!! posted 03/25/2008 at 17:36:37

Cheney On 4,000 Dead Americans: They Volunteered

The sad part to all of this with all these lives lost and many more wounded is that the American people are becoming more and more disconnected from this War the longer it goes on. The American people do not stay interested very long and in the past it was the Media that bombarded the airways and news print to keep interest alive. The Media is quick to resurrect the Monica scandal which left this Nation with a lame-duck president resulting in a disservice to this country because of their intense coverage on something so insignificant. The Media no longer provides the day to day, in your face news on Iraq or Afghanistan and maybe it is a pre-planned approach to putting this War on the back burner. It seems to be working well. It is simply mind-boggling that president Bush hasn't been taken to task by the Media in all this time for the irreversible damage he has caused this country. . What he has done that has left many of our men and women to die and be maimed comes nowhere near the sins of Bill Clinton. History will reflect that American casualties will have been in vain. No victory, No Democracy, No stability for Iraq. The longer we remain the more we will suffer and there has to come a time when we must draw down. The British are thinking of coming back to provide a "surge" to stabilize the south after they departed, so what does posted 03/24/2008 at 20:07:10

Obama Endorsed By Bill Richardson

Richardson's explanations for endorsing Obama are weak at best. Change being the main theme for the Obama campaign seems to be getting the attention of the American people but are they mostly young people or old. The November election may come down to how the older Americans vote as opposed to the Young. Should Obama be the Democratic nominee McCain may have a better than 50% chance of winning since for most older Americans the idea of change may be difficult for them to accept. They would much prefer the status quo...What many Americans may not realize is that Change in our political system and the way of doing things and coming together as one America will not come easy or come at all. If Congress and its political machine have their way, as they mostly do, don't expect to see any change at all. One man or woman may will not make a difference and as it looks now either candidate for President will most likely split this country in half so the majority support of the American people will not be there for either one. Overall this coming election does not seem to give the American people much of a choice...there is no one strong candidate that can put it all together and with the many problems facing our Nation we may be in for an uphill battle for the next four years. Obama at the present time seems to many to be the Savior we have all been waiting for but the realty is that this country is going thru another ethnic change and as immigrants forged ahead 100 years ago to build this Nation it is not the same today. America has reached it peak most likely after WWII and maybe a decade beyond. We look at our Nation today and do not see a very bright future. Can the next President make a difference....very doubtful posted 03/22/2008 at 11:09:16
Total disbelief on Richardson' endorsement. Obama's entry into this Presidential bid is causing more Race division in this country than ever before. It will only get worse as time goes on. If Obama is not selected as the Democratic nominee will there be Race riots?.....if he is selected will most White voters go Republican or Independent and an Obama loss resulting in more Racial problems. This country is in such turmoil and it seems either way we are in a lose, lose situation. posted 03/21/2008 at 19:00:18
