Clinton's Hail Mary

This is not a reply, could not post directly. Anyway, shouldn't "Rocky" have quotations around it? posted 05/09/2008 at 10:07:08

Obama's Clinton Dilemma

It is obvious that they both have to combine forces if a democrat is going to take the White House. posted 05/07/2008 at 10:45:55

Hillary Clinton Loan Suspected, Campaign "Close To Broke"

The sarcasm I see here belies the belief of your candidate who runs on a platform of unity. If you expect a democrat to win in November you better be prepared to build a truly diverse coalition to do so. Comments like I see here are the wrong way of doing that. posted 05/07/2008 at 11:47:37

Clinton Backer "Organized" Wright's Press Club Event

Umm, I don't think the reverend needed any prodding from either Clinton or Obama supporters, he is on his own personal mission - it is called "payback." posted 04/29/2008 at 10:51:06

Elizabeth Edwards Denies Endorsement Rumors

I don't believe, with all due respect, that Senator Edwards' endorsement would carry the same weight as the governor's anyway. posted 04/29/2008 at 10:37:46

Rev. Jeremiah Wright's Media Blitz Forces Barack Obama to Face the Angry Black Man Test -- Again

I agree, Wright should have realized that Obama has enough of a challenge winning this nomination without adding to his problems. But, I wonder if he truly cares or there is some ulterior motive behind his actions. Wright has given McCain's strategists a treasure trove of material which they will happily exploit should Obama capture the nomination. If the Reverend is so cognizant of the difference between a ministry and politics, he then should have realized how politically damaging his appearances and comments would be. I guess what I am saying is I don't quite get what Wright was doing, it seemed surreal and bizarre at times to listen to him speak and to watch him gesticulate onstage. posted 04/28/2008 at 12:16:42

Jeremiah Wright At National Press Club: Watch Video

The timing of Wrigh'ts appearances could not have been worse for Obama, a little over a week before two critical primaries. Every question asked of Obama about Wright's comments is one lost opportunity to talk about the issues that most affect Americans, at the least this is a distraction, at the worse, politically damaging to the Obama campaign. posted 04/28/2008 at 11:40:39

Clinton Becomes A Gun Lover

It looks like Obama should have even taken Hillary's lessons, because it looks like he shot himself in the foot. posted 04/13/2008 at 10:51:40

Obama 'Small Town' Comments Draw Fire, Support

By the way, Toobin has to know that Obama was brought up in anything but a "modest" environment, he attended first-rate schools and perhaps he did not earn over a hundred million dollars he lives in a multi-million dollar home with property bought at a discounted rate from his buddy, indicted Rony Rezko. posted 04/13/2008 at 11:05:17
E-mailing that Obama-smitten groups comments defeding Obama shows how badly Obama has damaged himself. When Hillary made that Bosnis statement that was rightly called a "gaffe," when Obams speaks about the "bitterness" of the Pennsylvanians, his comments are appropriate. This is why Saturday Night Live parodied CNN in the first place, and this provides only more fodder for an additional spoof. I have a funny feeling that the voters will let us all know how they felt about Obama's comments on April 22. posted 04/13/2008 at 11:03:04

HE'S BACK: Bill Clinton's Campaign Remarks

I heard the question on CNN from its panel of the "best political team on television" (it has so many combinations) ask why Senator Clinton is continuing. Does she hope that Senator Obama will suffer from more Reverend Wright disclosures or as Amy Holmes sarcastically stated, from a "Tourette"s Moment?" Let me answer why she should continue: because the American people want her to. It is not how you win or lose but how you play the game and she is playing it with tenacity, vigor, integrity, and a firm belief in the value of public service. If she bowed out, she would have showed poor judgment, not the sham type of "poor judgment" alleged, a lack of appreciation for her supporters and donors, and a disregard for the wishes of the American electorate and its democratic process. Maybe the analysts are tired of this contest, but we Americans are only starting to get interested. The argument goes that the more protracted and combative the contest, the weaker the general candidate nominee will be, if the current candidate cannot stand up to the heat in this contest, s/he will wilt very quickly in the general election. I like my candidates battle-tested before they face the much vaunted Republican machine in November, personally. This battle will look like a cakewalk compared to what the general election fight will be, that is for certain. Well, I know, she may be close but President Bush won the 2000 election by 5 electoral votes but in this race, the super delegates will decide the nominee and are not bound by the popular vote or delegate count. Anti-democratic, they say? Well, I do believe that Senators Kennedy, Kerry and Governor Richardson"s states voted for Hillary but it won"t stop them from defying their own state"s public will and support Obama, will it? Hillary has to win the remaining states by "huge" margins (first, Bill Schneider stated by 53 to 56% depending on the allowance of Michigan and Florida but Jessica Yellin "upped" the figure to the 60-plus percentage range) to even come close with the popular and delegate totals. That is interesting, we will forget the fact she has won all the big, swing states, you know, the ones that determine who will win the presidency, forget the fact that Obama has lost the middle-class, white, moderate, and Independent-leaning voters which also will decide the presidency and only the small states where his margins were mostly determined by one particular voting block, and they are all correct. I am sure all the super delegates will ignore general election electability in favor of maintaining his rock star status. One note, the United States had a civil war not only because of the slavery issue but because of secession, now, today; we simply will exclude our states with nary a care. What happens if Obama became the party nominee and eventually commander-in-chief? Will any of his decision on these excluded states be enforceable though they may have voted in the general election? Any constitutional scholars care to answer this question; no one in CNN has even asked it, the best political team on television. Can you actually claim to have a party nominee without counting the votes from every state"s primary? Might as well as our constitutional lawyer that, too. I will count Hillary out when the voters do, not the pundits, even the best ones on the whole planet, "cause this election has shown that the people can trump them any time. posted 03/22/2008 at 18:47:13
