I am a union carpenter that is currently and possibly permanently broken (constant migraines even after having 3 discs chopped out of my neck.) Up until March 2007, when the headaches started, I loved building concrete forms on high-rises and bridges. I am living the nightmare of our for profit health system and currently the Social Security Dept. I have both hopes and fears of what the future might hold politically. Hopes that Obama is elected and implements a truly progressive agenda. Fears that the GOP will steal another election, and that Bush has screwed up our economy and country so badly that it will ruin me financially. I also fear that Obama will take a more centrist approach to governing. I am not ashamed to say I love my country, but I must say I am ashamed of what the Bush administration has been allowed to do so freely.
