The Surge Is Working? Not If You Read the Latest GAO Report

Major Victory for Vets: Bush Withdraws Veto Threat Over New GI Bill

...Paul, i am responding to this GREAT NEWS at this very moment from a homeless veterans trainign program where i consult as a V.A.. doc . later this morning i will have the opportunity to inform about 50 vets in a class i teach of this important , very positive news and will ask them to remember your name and your organization for your relentless efforts on their behalf. these young returnees from Iraq and Afghanistan just recieved a well-deserved life opportunity thanks to you sir. in this era of hypercompetitiveness in many career tracks , its good to know they will have access to intensive education at out many fine pulbic univeristies without having to work full time to afford the 1 or 2 classes a semester they would otherwise be taking and barely affording. this level playing field with civilian students will allow them to focus on their studies and propel themselves forward successfully in this fiercely competitve job market, which would not otherwise have likely been the case for so many of them. posted 06/20/2008 at 08:32:09

As Long As We're Talking About Michelle Obama, Did You Know Cindy McCain Was A Drug Addict?

hard to imagine that a mutimillionaire heiress couldnt find a "dr. feelgood" like elvis' dr nichopopolous out there in her desert fiefdom to keep things more discrete...but in all seriousness, bringing in the wife vs. wife sideshow is a distraction form obama's gravitas, charisma and real momentum....mccain is gonna get the "republican stepford wife" vote anyway... posted 06/19/2008 at 15:07:22

Ten Key Steps to Put Obama Over the Top In November

...This is a very practical tactical roadmap to victory sir...i wil question the viability of texas and stars and bars georgia and missisippi as "in play" states vis a vis more moderate boarder southern states like tennessee and kentucky, but i think your essay, if these points are implemented, is an excellent illustration of a quiet optimism we should have right now over the outcome in november...if i may add a critical point #11 sir...the democrats have a literal all- star cast of skilled, broadly well respected and charismatic politicos at their disposal to work as spoekepersons for this campaign whereas the spent republicans have next to no one ( e.g. you think they really want "shoot rform the hip" reverend huckabee campigning anywhere outside the south?). a "lineup" of al gore, john edwards, ed rendell, mark warner, bill richardson , jim webb and yes hillary clinton as active campigners for the dem ticket is pretty darned impressive and can definitley add momentum and regional clout ( e.g. richardson among the hispanics in nevada, new mexico and colorado). these are all serious and seasoned people who will coalesce around obama sooner than later. get them active and out there active right away! posted 06/04/2008 at 12:32:07

For McCain, All-American Strategy May Backfire

..the corprate media has ALREADY framed the vapid trajectory of this election in terms of a juvenile "People Pagazine/personality " contest between obama and clinton and will adroitly extrapolate that to banalize the general election. they will airbursh away mccains obvious mental and policy flaws much like they did bush in 2000 whiel the corporate aganda of the TV media will come into play attacking the Dem. just yesterday, Fox did an extneded tv feature with smirking warmomnger bill kristol engaged in a thinly veiled racist dialogue about whether Obama was " too cocky for his own good". i couldnt help but imagine the implication was of course the 'uppity" black man..too cocky..too smooth...this is just a start of what will be a hardly subtle but relentless flank attack agaisnt obama on anything but policy and bush's failures.. for obama being black, being of a foreign- born father and representing "sinsiter", shadowy left wing forces and radical causes...i wouldnt be surprised to see him beign morphed in an ad this fall into an incendiary stokely carmichael circa 1968 just like they morphed max cleland into hussein in the 2002 election...oabma needs to be preemptive about the impending slime attack now... posted 04/02/2008 at 10:17:11

Excerpt from Free Ride: John McCain and the Media

...mr. waldman, as you directly aluded to in your book on Bush ('Fraud"), the modern corporate media will ALWAYS favor the pro corprate candidate (i.e. the conxservative) who champions the corproate/plutocratic zeitgeist. this will be the case over the next 7 motnhs even in the context of this abomnaiton of bushco. and its endless array of corruption, failures and incompetencies. the reduction of this campaign to a vapid "people Magazine" contest ALREADY has set the table to allow them to promote mccain by obfuscating the uterly failed and corrupt bushco. domestic and hegemonioius war agenda that he is clearly intending to continue. The MSM will not be talking about Iraq/the dwindling middle class/ the dacaying infrastructure/ the national debt and myriad other bushco. failures in any kind of issue-driven campiagn, but rather mccain will be airbrushed and promulgated by the corporate media as "GI Joe meets Jimmy stewart" in their intention to keep a republican in office and have the voters overlook the obvious bush III aganda of the repubs .....look at how they eviscerated john edwards during th e winter in favor of corporatist clinton and kumbaya obama....edwards threatening candidacy, defined and then scorned as inexplicably "too liberal" for america by the corporate media, would have been fully mainstream circa 1964 or 1968....how rightwards and plutocratic we have drifted , as the media relentlessly dumbs down and steers rightward the democratic process.... posted 03/28/2008 at 09:26:41
