Technically, I'm a child of the 60's, but that didn't really happen until my stint in the U.S. Army in the late 60's. It was during the service to my country that I began to break my childhood programming and realize that life is a struggle between those who are able to break their programming and those that haven't...and those who play both sides to their advantage. And yes, one can be an atheist while in a foxhole.
My pleasures are: Cigars, roasting and grinding my own coffee beans, planting a garden full of good stuff to eat, travelling to other countries, especially the ones our government is at odds with and enjoying the friendships created there, trout fishing in the small alpine streams of Utah and Wyoming, freediving for fish and Abalone off the northern California coast, coaching women's sports, betting on the ponies, enjoying the company of smart and beautiful women...aren't all women beautiful?
My activism is focused on defending the rights of all oppressed people, but since I can't do everything, I focus on the rights of Palestinians and Gays, because I have dear friends in each group, but also will speak out forcefully for Women and Armed forces members.
