Hillary Said It Wrong But Got It Right About Hard Working, White Americans

I'm disappointed that someone who calls themselves RichLiberal isn't bringing up the "liberal elite" they seem to be so worried about in the rest of their posts. This poster keeps talking about a mysterious party called "we" who is going to wrest control of the Democratic party from the hands of those of us who have spoken in the primaries and caucuses across this country. I know a good number of Democrats who are not included in your "we". posted 05/10/2008 at 16:00:58

Truth Alert: McCain's Freudian Slip is Showing (and Very Telling)

It's ignorance born through arrogance. Some Americans are just too damned intellectually lazy to figure out what they think on their own, they prefer predigested opinion through the media outlet of their choice. Couple that with nationalistic fervor and the constant refrain of "We are the Greatest Country on Earth" and you have the "perfect storm". I hope more of us awaken out of this nightmare and cast a vote for the future best interests of our country and of the world. posted 05/09/2008 at 19:57:33

Clinton Supporters Send Last-Ditch Obama Attack Emails To Supers

I know several Clinton supporters and I consider them reasonable people, they are individuals I know from having worked together during previous campaigns. None of them have indicated they will vote for McCain in November. But, for those of you so unreasonable that you feel it necessary to vote for John McCain because Senator Clinton didn't win, I say by all means do so, it is proof that you have never held progressive values to begin with and your only concern is your candidate and NOT your country. It is shameful, immature behavior in my opinion. posted 05/10/2008 at 01:37:35

The Firewall: Obama Wins NC primary

You know what, your very interesting story about Senator Obama has been discredited by people with far more credibility than you have as an anonymous poster on the internet. It has been called the usual "right wing narrative (which) melds half truths and lies" along with just a couple of facts to lend it an air of authenticity. As for your assertions about Sharia law, polygamy, etc etc. the document that was based upon has been denounced as a forgery. It must be wonderful to be able to spread innuendo and slurs on the internet without having to reveal who you are. And your pathetic attempt to paint Obama as some kind of anti-American foreigner illustrates your disdain for everything this country stands for. Memo to the Superdelegates: If You Want to Win

Mr Schonfeld, Something you may have not considered in your analysis is the infrastructure of county Democratic parties. As the race stands now, many of our volunteers are Obama supporters. These are the people who organize the canvassing, man the phones, run the fundraisers for downticket races , make the coffee, and dump the trash. Some would probably vote for Clinton in the general election, but a good many would lose interest in helping out during the fall campaign. For the first time in years our county has people who are more than willing to help, much of this is due to the candidacy of Senator Obama. So should the scenario you describe take place, and the superdelegates take it upon themselves to annoint Senator Clinton, she will find herself with a disgruntled, disillusioned and disinterested volunteer force. I myself will probably vote for Clinton to keep my conscience clean, but after this primary season if she is chosen behind closed doors and against the will of the people I shall change my 32 year alliance with the Democratic party and tell them to go to hell! posted 04/28/2008 at 23:36:21

Why I Predicted the PA Results Exactly Right

I disagree with your analysis about the race factor. In fact, the demographic breakdowns of PA voters show that Obama made significant gains with white males and the elderly. I do agree though, that Hillary Clinton has done a great deal of damage, not only to Senator Obama's candidacy, but also her own. The economy will only worsen in the next seven months, so I wouldn't throw in the towel on Senator Obama just yet, he has proven he has the capacity to overcome many obstacles. I have a feeling that John McCain's non stances on economic issues and his hawkish drum beating will not resonate come November. Look for him to have a couple of explosions on the campaign trail and his numbers against the Dems will not be very impressive. Seven months is a long time, I am very confident that Obama can win this election. posted 04/23/2008 at 15:46:09

The Same Old Story: Discrediting Hillary

Mr. Sclesinger, 32 years as a proud Democrat and I have never seen a primary race as nasty as this one. Both camps have been guilty of personal attacks, but any objective observer would, I think, agree that the preponderance of those attacks have come from the Clinton campaign. Senator Clinton has not CREATED any kind of coalition. That implies she is building something, what she has done, very effectively, is tear everything apart. She has been so divisive that I am going to have a very difficult time voting for her in November if she is the nominee. I read that Bill Bennett praised her for running a Republican style campaign, that would be fine during the general election but during the primary season it is inexcusable. I am disgusted and tired, and I started out this primary season with high hopes. If she had run a more positive, issue based campaign I would feel very differently about the Senator now. Don't paint Senator Clinton as a victim, what she has been is a victimizer, and her victims are all the members of her own party. posted 04/23/2008 at 12:14:17

Why Hillary Makes My Wife Scream

Funny, how adept the Clinton "supporters" are at picking up on right wing tactics. Senator Clinton went negative first, her attacks have become more and more shrill. If you are truly Clinton supporters, and not just right wing shills paid to kick up a little dust, your political sense should tell you that your candidate has a slim chance of winning the nomination. IF she does, her campaign has been so divisive and negative that there may be very little of our party left come November. A primary win in Pennsylvania for Senator Clinton does not mean that Senator Obama can't win Pennsylvania in the general election, if this was so nominees for the GE would never win the states they lost in the primaries. Make sure you all keep up the negativity, it's really been good for our party. posted 04/22/2008 at 23:33:20

Since you offer absolutely no proof and only conjecture that Obama will be the "third coming of Dukakis" I'll offer my opinion too and say that I think you are wrong and that nothing could be further from the truth. Obama has shown the capacity to attract Independent and uncommitted voters and some Republicans. I think the coalition of voters that will help him win the White House in November will prove the old saying that politics makes strange bedfellows. As far as your worries about working with the Republicans to achieve meaningful change, there are polls that show Obama helps Democrats in downticket races more than Senator Clinton and that we have a better chance of achieving a majority in Congress with him at the top of the ticket. posted 04/20/2008 at 15:17:14

Iraq Violence Continues As Death Toll Nears 300

I think you are absolutely wrong. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome each time. The situation in Iraq now is no different than it was when the British held control, the same hostilities exist and they take place in the very same regions. This is an argument that has been ongoing for centuries, the notion that our gunfighter nation is going to step in and show them how it's done is nothing short of arrogance, with a healthy dose of ignorance thrown in. posted 03/30/2008 at 19:15:14
Ramirez, Germany and Iraq are not in any way comparable. Perhaps you should read the history of the region, then you would understand that the same scenario has played itself out in Iraq before. The British occupied Iraq for years and they were never able to quell the sectarian violence. They too handed the government over to the Iraqis, they too invaded with little or no knowledge of the history of sectarian strife. Their occupation of Iraq drained their treasury and did great harm to their international standing. The comparison of Germany and Iraq is nothing but intellectual dishonesty. posted 03/30/2008 at 14:23:16
