Clarence Porter is the pen name for James Macdonald, former Chief Underwriting Officer of one of the USA's largest commerical insurance companies. In response to the attacks on 9/11, Mr. Macdonald developed a new approach for underwriting terrorism risk that is currently the standard for many insurers. Now a consultant with Navigant Consulting, Mr. Macdonald writes on-line articles about terrorism and insurance for the International Risk Management Institute at their website (IRMI.COM).
