I heard him say that too... I was like, "WTF is he talking about!?" Up until then, I kinda liked Sanchez, but that put him down 2 or 3 notches in my book.

I think all African Americans have stories like this to tell. Here's two quick ones. When I was a child, I lived in Germany for 5 years. Back then I had the big curly Fro, and I must say, I was a pretty cute little dude. I remember getting so much attention from the local German folks. They ALWAYS wanted to play with my hair. It was almost like I was some kind of side-show freak alien. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm surprised my mother allowed this to happen to me :(

But on a positive note. When I went to college, in Colorado, I had several women tell me point blank, they had never met an African American before. I too was told about the tail myth on a couple of occasions. I wasn't offended by this type of thing. I was usually like, "Don't be silly, Allow me to educate you !!" I felt it was my duty to take advantage.....er ....... of the opportunity to to enlighten my fellow American citizens in the interest of campus and racial harmony. posted 06/15/2008 at 11:52:37
