Olbermann Special Comment: Obama's Second Chance On FISA

Spoken like a true "democrat", are you in Congress? Your sentiments are the same reasons given by the congressional leadership on why impeachment was "off the table". It was more important to get the legislative goals passed, then hold Bush accountable. Now it's more important to get Obama's legislation passed, then hold Bush and company accountable. That's where you are wrong because if America is to remain a rule of law nation, we must hold Bush accountable for the crimes he committed. There is nothing more important then that. posted 07/01/2008 at 08:38:55
I'm an Olbermann fan but not of this SC. Olbermann is excusing Obama's flip-flop on the FISA issue. Plus his reasoning that Obama is going to prosecute Bush admin officials for crimes committed with this program is laughable. Obama has made no such statement. Plus Olbermann says Bush can't pardon everyone involved because it would be admitting he is guilty to the world. Do you think Bush cares what people think? After 7.5 years of his presidency, most of which he's had huge negative numbers, has Bush changed his positions on anything to suit public opinion? NO So Bush will pardon everyone, could care less if people thinks he's guilty, and laugh all the way to the bank in retirement. posted 06/30/2008 at 23:37:25

Obama Rebukes MoveOn In Patriotism Speech

Wrong Wrong Wrong. Obama didn't have to reject Clark's words, he choose to. Here's how you fight "spin" by using the truth. That's how you counter spin. So those that would spin Clark's words into an attack on McCain's service, you set the record straight. You say Clark didn't disparage McCain's service, he said that his service alone doesn't qualify him to be president. See how easy that is. By refusing to do that, and hanging Clark out to dry, Obama shows himself to be WEAK and COWARDLY. posted 06/30/2008 at 16:28:56

Memo to Obama: Moving to the Middle is for Losers

The telcoms were not caught between a rock and a hard place. These giant corporations have teams of lawyers and knew what the Bush admin asked of them was illegal. Qwest refused to cooperate because they knew it was illegal to grant wiretaps without a court order. The telcoms deserved to be prosecuted as much as Bush admin officials. posted 06/30/2008 at 16:36:37

Obama Undercuts His Brand

Obama is showing himself to be the typical democrat running for office, he's moving to the center to try to win. He doesn't want to be shown as some sort of radical "liberal" and scare off independents. He doesn't want the news media labeling him as such. But as this emerging media narrative takes hold, it's going to do way more damage then if he had stuck to his original positions. The media hates inauthenticness more then it hates a "liberal" politician. Now McCain can change positions and avoid the flip-flop label because the media loves him. Obama won't be given the same luxury. For such a smart politician, Obama is starting to act stupid. posted 06/28/2008 at 13:50:38

When Rove Calls Obama Arrogant, He Means "Uppity"

One more example of Rove's arrogance is him criticizing the NY Times for "outing" a cia agent. Only problem was the cia agent wasn't an undercover one, unlike Valerie Plame. Yet that human pile of excrement had the audacity to even say something like that. If there's award for the year's biggest hypocrit, Rove will take the top prize. posted 06/27/2008 at 15:29:54

Keith Olbermann, Glenn Greenwald Feud Over FISA

I love Keith but Greenwald is right. Keith is applying a double standard. Criticizing Bush for wanting telco immunity but excusing Obama when he supports it. The biggest problem with Keith's argument is two fold. First of all, Obama has never said he will criminally prosecute anyone engaged in this illegal warrantless wiretapping. He just has the hope that if Obama is elected president, that he will do that. Second major problem is that any potential of criminal prosecutions, will most likely be nullified by last minute Bush pardons. Bush ain't going to leave himself exposed to future prosecutions of his crimes, especially if Obama is elected the next president. He is going to pardon everyone in his administration that committed crimes on his behalf. That will eliminate potential witnesses against testifying against him. posted 06/27/2008 at 13:58:13

McCain Advisor's Terrorism Comment Highlights the Right's Historic Use of Fear: How Progressives Can Overcome It

That's an absolute lie that Clinton didn't do anything about Osama. He tried to kill him with cruise missiles. He didn't get him, but don't lie and say Clinton didn't try to do something about Osama. When Clinton did attempt to kill Osama, the republicans accused him of "waging the dog" over Monicagate. It was republicans then and to this very day that fail to take terrorism seriously. posted 06/26/2008 at 17:44:31

Court rejects death penalty for raping children

That's exactly what the court did, find that it was cruel and unusual to sentence someone to death for raping a child. Part of determing if a sentence is cruel and unusual, is whether the sentence is proportional to the crime. Clearly the court find that death was not proportional to the crime. It's a good ruling, because executing child rapists would encourage the perp to kill the victim. If I'm going to get death for this anyway, why leave a witness alive to testify against me? That would of been the unintended consequence of executing child rapists. I'm glad the court ruled as it did. posted 06/25/2008 at 14:33:47

Whose Flag Is This, Anyway?

Wear a flag pin and an Obama button. That way everyone will know you are a patriot and a democrat. For far too long we've allowed the RW'ers to claim a monopoly on patriotism. It's time we take it back. posted 06/16/2008 at 14:59:56

The Media Is Already Demonizing Obama as Being Different

Are you out of your mind? Let's review the media's treatment of Obama. For a whole week they discussed his bowling abilities. Saying that since he was a bad bowler, it made him into an elitist. Then there was the two week obsession with Rev. Wright's sermons. Now Obama's wife is being attacked as "unamerican". While Cindy McCain, who is an adulteress and drug addict, gets ignored completely. So again, what world are you living in? posted 06/16/2008 at 15:11:30

I Am Not a Bargaining Chip, I Am a Democrat

Obama won, it's over. He has the required number of delegates to clinch the nomination. IT'S OVER, GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD. Now you can either support our nominee, Obama, or vote for McCain. The choice is yours. The democratic party has made it's choice, and it's OBAMA!!!! posted 06/04/2008 at 15:52:50

Hooked on Hillary

Hillary's Bosnia lie is so unbelievablely bad for one reason. There is no way the Secret Service would allow her to risk being shot by sniper file, by running to the cars. So not only did she lie but she insulted the protection expertise of our Secret Service. Her lie makes them look like incompetents. For that she should apologize to the Secret Service. posted 03/31/2008 at 12:13:13

"Indecency"

How sad that there are no comments about this issue. I guess no one cares about the First amendment. Just one more step closer to a police state, if this Indiana law is allowed to stay on the books. posted 03/31/2008 at 12:33:06

Senator Leahy To Clinton: Drop Out

A couple of questions I'd like answered. What have the personal attacks Obama has done against Hillary? Give actual examples, not just broad statements. Two, What would be the difference between the Clinton and Reagan legacy? Because both Clinton and Reagan were pro-business and the rich get richer, poor get poorer. Clinton was the "genuis" that gave us NAFTA. How many good paying American jobs were destroyed by that one treaty? Your statement that you'll vote for McCain over Obama, shows that you care nothing about our country or party. That if you're darling Hillary can't be the nominee, then you will go to the other side. To that I say, go to the other side, we don't need you. posted 03/28/2008 at 14:18:13

Limbaugh's Lying Voters Under Investigation

No primaries are for members of each political party to pick their party's candidates. They should not be open to just anyone. You should have to be a member of that party to vote for in it . All you have to do is register as either a republican or a democrat. There should be no such thing as an open primary. Because where there are open primaries, this crossover stuff happens all the time. Members of the rival party cross over to pick the weaker candidate, so that their side will win in the general election. posted 03/25/2008 at 16:24:17

Morning Shows Snipe At Clinton Over Bosnia Remarks

Talking on a cell phone, OH MY GOD. Well there is no way he can be president now. Thank you Kennedy for educating us all. (snark) posted 03/25/2008 at 16:38:02

"Obama's Test" or Ours?

Do you have any evidence to support your statement that Obama is only where he is because of college students at caucuses? I bet not because not only has Obama won in caucuses but he has also won in primaries. Speaking of my own caucus experience, there were no college students there. I live in Colorado in a college town, and the majority of those there were middle aged or older. Being 31 years of age, I was probably one of the youngest people there. posted 03/25/2008 at 16:31:40

A McCain Moment: Do You Want Four More Years of This?

No Obama did not call for the bombing of Pakistan. He said that if there was actionable intelligence on the presence of Osama, that he would authorize missile strikes. He didn't call for the bombing of the Pakistani gov't. Facts matter and so do details. So get your info correct. posted 03/25/2008 at 16:10:03

Some Blues for Mr. Charlie: Obama's Moment of Truth

You weren't going to vote for Obama anyway. Even if you never heard of Rev. Wright, you weren't going to vote for Obama no matter what. So spare us your BS. posted 03/21/2008 at 16:13:07
