Obama Berlin Speech: See Video, Photos, Full Speech Transcript

Stark contrast to the protesters waiting for Bush. I've been listening to media pundits trip all over themselves asking will there be backlash for Americans? What the hell for? The small percentage of people that are not going to like the fact that Americans are respected again on the world stage are the ones who still support Bush...and that's what now 21%? I can live with that.

It's been a long time since I've witnessed people waving American flags in Europe. It was wonderful to see. Too bad the State Department officials based in Germany weren't allowed to go. (snark) posted 07/24/2008 at 14:18:03

Obama: "I'm Cropping A Lot Of Gray Hair Over The Last Year And A Half"

Charlie Gibson comes across as some smug, condescending, patronizing old grump. He has that cocky, leaned over, looking over his glasses and down his nose attitude that irritates the hell right out of me. He talks to Obama like he's some toddler when he is actually older than Clinton was during his 1st run at the Presidency.

He acts completely different when he interviews McSame. For that fact, they all do. Couric, Williams, Andrea Mitchell...all of them act like the sun rises and sets in the crack of McCain's behind.

New Poll: McCain Leading In Ohio

Rasmussen polls (as well as many others) are unreliable. If you look at the numbers, the polling samples tend to be small and not diverse. If you poll a majority of people over 65 that are sitting home watching Fox News channel and using their rotary dial telephones, then of course the numbers are going to be close. There was a very interesting write up the other day about how the pollsters do not get data from young people, college aged voters, or cell phone users because "they are too hard to track" and they consider the young people "unreliable". If that's the case, then we have NO idea of what the actual picture looks like as they are leaving out an incredibly large portion of the voting population. posted 07/22/2008 at 17:43:50

The looks on their faces, like they are happy to see him and the looks on some of the government officials faces...looked like RELIEF to me.

So many people say (and criticize/call names) that it's not all about "one" man...well, look at the damage that Bush caused...and I use the term "man" loosely in his case.

Move his old behind to 5:00 permanently and give Rachel the 7:00 hour right before Countdown. Maddow/Olbermann/Abrams..that would be a great line-up. Why Do We White People Dislike Michelle Obama?

It irritates the hell out of me when people say "She looks mad" all the time. That is so elementary and stupid. Andy Rooney looks mad all the time too but he's been on television for a thousand years and people love him. There are so many examples of people that have a "strong" expression naturally on their faces and some people are intimidated by it.

So many of the faux "journalists" and tv pundits went out of their way to demonize her because they know it takes so little to make an impression on the public...sad as that is. It's also a way to get at Obama. More typically it has been the wives of Democrats. The "press" was brutal to Teresa Heinz Kerry, Hillary Clinton, and Rosalyn Carter...but they were all gooey over the stepford brand of Republican wives...Nancy Reagan, Barbara Bush (I still can't figure that one out because she WAS pissed off all the time) and now Laura Bush.

Fact is, I haven't heard Michelle Obama say one single thing that I found offensive..not even slightly. She is smart, strong, tall and beautiful with a solid marriage and great kids...for some reason, its something people tend to be "mad" about and it is just purely ignorant. posted 07/17/2008 at 11:00:07

I think that number is a little misleading. I wish it were true...believe me! I just think that some people do not answer that question honestly. At least after the primary season, we can comfortably assume that the 10% that said no are over 60 and live in Appalachia. posted 06/22/2008 at 11:38:41

Are the Democrats Worse Than the Republicans?

I could not agree more if I tried extra hard. I started my list a LONG-ass time ago. Funny thing is...today...of all days....I get fundraising and donation requests from the DSCC & the DCCC. Talk about having some nerve!

I wish I could develop a supplement to aide in growing some balls. I would even be willing to send ALL elected democrats a free supply!!!

I spent my entire morning calling my Congressmans office, Steny Hoyers office, Nancy Pelosi's office, etc. The reactions from their staffers are amazing. They could absolutely give a rats ass that they have disgusted the electorate and Democratic voters. If they don't give a shit, then how can they expect anyone else to? posted 06/20/2008 at 13:35:49

Press Dissatisfied With Treatment From Obama Campaign

Waaah Freakin' Waaaah.. We have the laziest, most uninformed, tabloid & sensationalistic media who is NOT at all interested in facts but sound-bites and headlines. Ms. Logan had it 100% right on the Daily Show with her criticism of the media and its coverage of world events. If I had gotten a boo-hoo letter like that from the press...I would have sent it straight to the shredder. I didn't hear this bunch of Bozo's complaining when Bush took the better part of a YEAR off during his two terms when they really had "nothing" to do...like cover a WAR or any of the other clusterf*cks created by this administration. They are truly pathetic. posted 06/19/2008 at 18:32:20

Keith Olbermann Backlash Fueled By Declaration Of Katie Couric As "Worst Person In The World"

As candy-assed and complacent and enabling as our mainstream media is...if they have someone pissing them off then I say GOOD! All of the ones that sat by and never asked a single tough question over the past 8 years are the same ones that are angry. Too frickin' bad! posted 06/12/2008 at 15:50:19

GOP Operative Releases Obama Muslim Ad

Wouldn't it be REALLY great if the mainstream media gave this no air play? Not likely...but we can "hope". It'll be played in areas where people believe those viral emails anyway, no matter how much contradictory evidence there is to disprove the attacks. One thing is for sure..republican attack ads are predictable and consistently pathetic. posted 06/11/2008 at 13:22:57

Thank YOU for saying that. The same thing irks me to no end and it never gets corrected...even when its quoted on television by "journalists" who supposedly know better! posted 06/09/2008 at 11:33:14

McCain, Obama Battle Over Wary Evangelical Voters

So, let me get this straight...LIE-berman is mad because someone called him out for being a dick? He can be as big of a sleazebag as humanly possible...but no one is supposed to notice or say anything? Wow..he does fit in well with the Republicans. How do the people in Connecticut feel about good old Joe now? I hope they like him just a little because they are stuck with him for a long time. My sympathies. posted 06/10/2008 at 15:05:44

Obama And Dean Team Up To Recast The Political Map

For as much crap as Howard Dean has taken, and for as much disrespect as he received from old Clinton allies, such as Paul Begala and James Carville and Terry McAuliffe, he really did some great things in expanding the democratic base in this country. I feel like he is owed a tremendous amount of credit for that...as well as Joe Trippi. I was really excited to see that Obama is keeping Dean as chairman.

I've said many times this campaign season...all the old rules are out the door. Pundits who think they can rely on all of the old past election data to determine red and blue states are nuts. If nothing else good comes from this drawn out process that we all just endured, it is that we know we have democrats north, south, east & west that are ready to be active in this party. We haven't seen primary numbers like these in decades...if ever.

It trips me out every time I look at Reagan's electoral map from his wins in 80 & 84. No one expected that man to change the map like he did. With Bush's approval numbers swimming around the bottom of the toilet, and the Republican brand in general just stinks, we are likely to see another sweeping change in the electoral map.

I for one will be so glad if I never hear Tim Russert (or his little whiteboard) be able to narrow another election down to just one state. posted 06/05/2008 at 13:54:10

Clinton-Backing House Members To "Demand" Hillary As VP

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz needs to shut the hell up and pay attention to her district in Florida!!! She loves to be on television and loves to be in the spot-light...but ask her if she will campaign for or assist other hopeful democrats running in south Florida and the answer would be a big fat NO.

Stephanie Tubbs-Jones is another one that needs to pay attention to her Cleveland area district.

I suggest these two women do their own jobs and back off trying to nominate the Vice President. posted 06/05/2008 at 13:37:31

Morning Joe "Unlike Anything Else On Morning TV"

This has GOT to be some sort of attempt for publicity or ratings. There is NO other explanation for people showering all of this praise on this show. I'm not even going to waste the time explaining why Joe Scarborough is not watchable...but Mika? Seriously? Does the woman know another word besides "WOW"? It makes you want to throw things at the television.

I did give it a fair chance...for a bit....now I choose to sleep a little longer in the morning! posted 06/05/2008 at 23:47:04

Durbin On Clinton Camp Raising Wright: Try Your Best

According to Nathan Smith, a superdelegate and Kentucky Democratic Party vice chairman, Wright is likely to have a massive impact on voters in his state and geographic region. And, consequently, could affect his judgment when choosing a nominee.

"Poor white people are freaked out by Wright," said Smith. "It has hurt [Obama] bad West Virginia and Kentucky. You can go down the Ohio River and it is ugly. He is going to take an ass whooping... These are not traditional southern racists. They are poor income whites who are shocked. They woke up one morning and said, 'I think he's black!' They were just in a daze. 'He wouldn't tell his preacher to stop that?' ... These are the people who wrapped themselves in the flag for George W. Bush. It is not about him being black it is about the god damn American comment. This is not a religious thing it is about patriotism."
*********************************************************************************************************
I am MORE than shocked that a "black" man is going to get an "ass whooping" in West Virginia and Kentucky. These areas are STILL to this day a strong hold for George Bush and were NOT going to vote for Obama anyway, under any circumstance. Nothing that Mr. Smith said in this quote will surprise anyone. posted 04/02/2008 at 14:13:11
