Even Paid Speech Isn't Free

I play online poker at Poker Stars. Not for money, but just for chips. When you sign up, you can choose a photo and nickname that appears at the table. I chose a black & white mugshot of 'W' with the tagline "Drunk Moron". Whenever I appeared at a table, invariably someone would type something in the comment space. Usually, it was humorous agreement, but every once in awhile, a 'Super Patriot' would weigh in, which is okay. The photo has remained for the past year, but suddenly last week, it disappeared. Now people are commenting, asking where it went? When I explain that it must have been pulled, they usually agree that it was a pathetic move on Poker Stars part or that the CIA are tapping our games. Everything Bateman touches turns to....'Funny'. I love this guy. As for Arrested Development, It's a sad commentary on both Hollywood and the viewing public that this masterpiece of american dysfunction was allowed to disappear from our screens. I place it in the same league as John Cleese's brilliant work on 'Fawlty Towers'. Believe it or not, they only ever made 12 episodes, but scenes and characters from the series remain deeply embedded in those who appreciate the best in comedy.

I wondered why HuffPo would include a story like this, especially considering that it's author seemed just a touch narcissistic and maybe a bit er...whats the word...loony? Well, you should Google Liz Jones. I did. And it seems her hair is probably not the big problem in her life. This women used her dud marriage as fodder for a column she writes. To quote her papers website The Mail Online: "Every week, her dispatches from the emotional battlefield of her marriage have mesmerized readers." Now, even that Texas knobhead Dr. Phil might agree that there is something amiss in Lizland.
So please huffEds, before you you include meaningless, boring 'puff' pieces like this on your site, give a thought to those of us who wade through it and how relevant to anything it might be.
