Bio
Karen Leonard has spent 15 years as a death rites activist and lobbyist on behalf of California consumers. She was the researcher for Jessica Mitford's book, The American Way of Death Revisited. Karen has worked as a consultant for the American Association of Retired Person (AARP) and for various law firms. Ms. Leonard developed both a funerary art gallery and a nonprofit organization. She has appeared on television (60 Minutes and 20/20), radio shows and has been featured in newspaper and magazine articles around the world.
Ms. Leonard is the Project Director for The Mitford Institute www.themitfordinstitute.org and is the website manager for www.mitford.org. She also assists with online classes in Critical Thinking.
